Hi Janet. Gross how many things find the human body on the menu. The thing that gets me is not that some things like a little taste of our flesh, it is the blood seekers that drive us crazy and are almost impossible to find and make go away. Such as mosquitos and ticks among a few. Hugs

(I don’t care for heat; I prefer cold. So, I’m not likely to be on a beach where it’s warm, anyway, or without shoes and clothes when it isn’t hot out.)🤷

Hi Ali. Aww. No worry they don’t take much, people rarely notice the tiny amount they sample. The report did not mention they carry disease. The ones that get under my skin … to put it literally, it is the stinging biting blood sucking ones such as mosquitos and ticks that really upset me. Some like the fish that eat the dead skin from peoples skin are great and people pay big money for the time with them. Hugs

Yich. I don’t mind the ecosystem taking what it can use, and all, and after I’m gone I hope there’s a way to dispose of human bodies in that fashion. But I wouldn’t be on a beach, anyway. It is an interesting story, though, because of all the beach conditions I don’t care for, I’d never heard of this before!😄

But I got curious yesterday while I was making the bed-it just popped into my head, do these things have predators? What do we do about them? But whenever I could look it up, it was not in my head. I finally remembered just now when I saw Scottie liked my comment, and looked it up. Sand pirahnas feed shore birds-yay!
Whenever there’s a dangerous pest, I have to know what the natural control is; I don’t know why, it’s just that the pest ought to serve a purpose. Like possums eat ticks, and purple martins (which I love, DH not so much) eat mosquitoes. So those two pests feed creatures that help us. At least, purple martins help with pollination. Possums are cute, and they eat ticks. 🤷

Hi Ali. Love you, love the idea that there is also something to eat the ones that eat others. It creates a balance in nature. However I have it on good authority that birds are jerks. 😝🤣😜😋💖 Hugs
