Some pictures of our Christmas 2024 day.

Ron and I had a wonderful Christmas day.  We had good food, we had good times.  Here is a couple pictures of me sharping our knives, including serrated ones you can do if you are careful.

Then there was the jolly elf in the kitchen working to prepare enough food for 10 people.  How he misses the days we held being holiday gatherings.  I helped on and off like doing the cooking and peeling of the eggs for the deviled eggs.  Here is the elf at work.

And then there is the result of all the work.  The food.

    1. Hi Janet, Oh how that makes me feel good. I forgot to include the ear corn that Ron shucked and boiled knowing I love them more than candy. But really what is on my mind now is how your day went. How you spend your day, what you may have eaten? I care about you.

I do hope you had a grand day with the things you wanted to be. If you want to respond privately it is OK, but I know the people here on Play Time would love to hear about your day and how you enjoyed it … or if we can we can be here to share with you.

Sorry after I started this reply I just realized what a presumptive asshole I might be.

But many hugs I wish I could give you in person, and if we ever have a holiday together I would love to have you at our table. It would be so grand to share our meal, our day, our hopes with you and hear your also as you tell us your days, your hopes, your wants and needs. I care, Hugs

      1. It was a very low-key day, but it was good. We didn’t do a big meal. That’s happening Friday. We ate an everyday meal, and enjoyed each other’s company.

We have several people, including two teens and one almost teen, coming tomorrow. I don’t know for certain who else other than them and their parents will be coming. I’m pretty certain several others are expected. Friends of the couple I live with. They do include me, so I am not alone.

My family is all in Texas (ugh) and I miss them a lot this time of year. My daughter and her husband and kids had a good day, which I helped make possible. That makes it better that I cannot be with them. My three grandkids are all autistic, and one is “selectively mute” which is more commonly known as non-verbal. He is developmentally delayed also, due to being born premature. But even he was excited about his gifts. My daughter was excited that he actually read a label, recognized his name, and without prompting, opened his first gift.

I exchanged gifts yesterday with the couple I live with. I got a lot of nice things, and they liked what I got them. It’s not about the things though. It’s the feeling. The joy of giving and receiving. It’s a truism, but it really is “the thought that counts.”

I’m still struggling, physically and emotionally, with the bladder problems. But that was under control yesterday, and so, for that day, I almost forgot about it.

No worries. No assholes found. 😘

I love corn on the cob too. And I greatly appreciate that you thought of me, and would include me in the future if that option ever were to present. 🫂

        Hugs Scottie.
