Barry gives good information. He writes/speaks straightforwardly. (I’m thinking he speaks as he writes.)

Neurotypicals expect speaking to be done in real time – something I don’t do well at. I have an array of prepared sentences that I can use in day to day communications, but if a conversation goes off script I flounder. Writing is not time dependant, at least not to the same extent. That gives me time to convert my thoughts (which are not word based) into language that non-autistic people can comprehend.
