Just had my 5 dollars worth Scottie on the Trade War post…. ‘5 cents’ didn’t cover it.
I could lay out a ‘Cold War’ case as to why the USA became involved in Vietnam. And an explanation for the post 9/11 mindset for Iraq / Afghanistan.
But this? Only someone devoid of any political sense or judgement….and that’s the polite version.

Hi Roger. It has been days since I posted this, and I have been very sick. … Would you mind laying down the full money’s worth on this one? Really, I find value in your comments and your posts. Oh that cat one I shared with Ron he loved and found rang so true in his mind as a cat lover. He often tells me our two cats protect us even though I remind him one can hardly walk. When he does, he is a high-powered tank thundering across the floor we can hear all the way to our bedroom. I would enjoy the expanded version to wake up to and enjoy going over with my spouse as we do our walk in the morning. When and if you get time of course. Loves and hugs. Thank you. Hugs.

Sorry to read that you have been very much unwell these days few days, and sending you best wishes and hopes you are starting to feel better.
I can’t quite find where my original 5 cents worth went….WP and I have a fractious relationship….
Anyway it appears that not a day goes by without waking up to find that Trump has come up with something inflammatory to say or one of his court is running triumphantly wrecking the carefully built administration.
These folk have little idea or will to learn just how to run a democracy for the good of the people as a whole. Current rampaging gleefully encouraged by supporters reminds me of something akin to the Cultural Revolution China suffered in the 1960s in which many pillars of the state was torn apart and folk harmed, killed too so that Moa Zedong could rule without opposition.
Eventually the Army stepped in.
There is much analysis being written on Trump on whether he is getting what he wants or what will be the long term implications, as if this were some project being run as an experiment.
What is being missed here by many commentators if that actual people are fearful of being harmed, are worried for their futures and are very resentful. In the latter case not just vilifying those who voted for Trump but those who did not vote at all or did not vote Democrat because of Palestine (include me in there- but being a Brit somewhat removed).
What is being missed here is after the election there is not just a lot of grumbling by those who did not vote for the winning side, there is raw emotion running lose.
Thus should be mindful of Lincoln’s use of biblical passage prior to the outbreak of the Civil War…’A House Divided, cannot stand…’.
The latent social forces which are involved in how a nation moves can carry a fearful momentum and unless attention is paid to them there will be a price demanded and there will be no avoiding payment.
I have said this before and it bears repeating for those of moderate conservative leanings. The current leadership and supporters within the Republican Party are just not ready for the consequences of their frenetic actions based on wishful thinking.
There will be consequences for them.
Take care your guys.

Hi Roger. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. One thing I think many people did not understand. Kamala Harris couldn’t say anything bad about Biden. The job of vice president is not a good one. You have no real authority and you are there only to take over in case your boss dies. There is a rule that the Vice President can’t say anything that makes the president look bad or shows disagreement.
So while she couldn’t say Biden was wrong she was hinting that she planned a complete review of the Gaza situations. At the same time tRump was forcefully saying Israel “… needed to go in with full force and get it done, do the job, get it done now”.
All these groups that said they couldn’t support Harris because of her Gaza policies failed to remember that tRump already gave Israel Jurlsilum and moved our embassy because he got paid 80 million by the wife of Sheldon Addison. She bragged that she only wanted the embassy and tRump threw in the West Bank.
I hope those people who refused to vote for her over Gaza enjoy what tRump plans for his wonderful resorts on the seaside in what was Gaza, while the Palestinians are killed or forced off their lands like the US did with the native people that were here when the white Europeans invaded this country. Hugs

I try to avoid doing this, beating my own drum as it were, but here’s a link to my post of 6th Feb 2025 in which I went on at some length on this topic.

Hi Roger. Thank you for the link. I found the post, read it and the one you did on real men by thinking Kat. I left comments there. Both are grand posts. Hugs.
