Let’s talk about Trump Medicaid Cuts: Official numbers from CBO….

Still have a major computer issue.  Am trying to get it repaired and back to being on the blog as quick as I can.  Writing this on an old I3 1.8 processor with no ram broken keyboard laptop I salvaged.   Hugs.

    1. Thank you Ali. I used to work in the park helping elderly people on limited incomes sort out their computer issues. I never charged but worked on donations only. Why because I never knew the situation the person needing my help was in. I would rather give my help for free, which happened a few times until the person needed my assistance again. I would show up and the person would be sheepish and when I left they would tip me rather well. I guess today that is called fuck around and find out. But I never saw it that way. I can tell you why. One time after working three days to help an elderly woman get her computer back online and solve the issues she was having. After I got her computer up and clean and running well online, she seemed flustered. She then explained that she did not get her social security check until next week … would I wait till then to be paid. I told her no charge, I don’t mind, the task itself was enough. She was nearly in tears and as I tried to tell her it was OK I did not need to be paid … and she struggled into her home from the room we were at and brought out a coupon for a free cheese pizza from a local restaurant. She asked if I would accept it as payment. I did immediately.

Later people when I told this story to, my working three days as long as I could stand to do it, and getting her online with a working computer … why be grateful for a 7 dollar cheese pizza? To those people I explain that I think that was to be her supper that night. And this lady went hungry to reward me for something I would have gladly done for free. But I took it to save her pride. She couldn’t take what I had done for free, it would have eaten at her. But that I was willing to take that made her happy. I really hope she had something else to eat that night. But her memory lives on in me, I worked on her computers until she lost interest in them … and then a few months later passed away. In those later years I often wondered if she called me to check her computer simply to have me to talk to. How I regret not seeing that then. I could have visited her several days a week if that was her need.

Anyway. I am going to go make grilled cheese sandwiches for me and my hubby. Hugs

Oh and to the laptop I rebuilt and wrote that post on. It was a similar situation. 84 year old woman who was clueless with computers I taught and nursed through lots of issues, one day called me and asked me to come to her home. She had the black computer I wrote that post on and she said it got too slow and wouldn’t do what she wanted, could I take it to make sure no one got her info off it. I said sure, but what did you buy to replace it. Then she proudly showed me the same dang computer only in white and said she got a great deal from QVC. I thanked her, set up her new computer that was the same as the old one, then left. Hugs.
