Democrats Are FED UP With Party Leaders

This is a great clip on the situation with the democratic party, democratic leadership, and the democratic message.  Also the polls on democratic leader ship is in the negative numbers.  One reason is the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the minority leader in the Senate, Chuck Schumer has said his number 1 priority is making sure the left keeps supporting israel.  The democratic party leadership has been totally captured by the big money donors, corporations, and large lobbying groups like the Israeli lobby AIPAC. It doesn’t make the people feel they are important to him or the party leaders.  Hugs

  1. OK, no.

First, I didn’t watch or listen; I really dislike these bros. But, the headline entitles me to my opinion.

Because they said that, I want to know: how many local, district, and state Dem party meetings did any of these people attend, and for how long consecutively? If the answer is none, they are not informed and should not be informing people.

Does this inflammatory video inform viewers how to become involved and able to do something about what this headline purports is their problem? If not, they have no room to be stating what they state.

There are ways to do things. Many of these things are easily done. Working for clicks and money, even if the money is “non-corporate”, does not make an authority on these subjects.

Just my .02. Having done and continuing to do the work I speak of, I will not change my mind about bros who only want to watch everything burn, then boss the rest of us around. This stuff is why Democrats can’t get anywhere; it’s what Pres. Obama meant by “the professional Left.”

    1. Hi Ali. This is the second try. I wrote a novella in reply the first time but it disappeared when I went to post it. I will try to keep this one shorter while covering the points you expressed.

First I feel if you don’t read or watch the material you are commenting on then you really are not commenting on the subject of the material but a straw man of your own making. That is what you did. Because you went by the headline and did not watch the video you don’t realize this video was Emma and Sam watching Harry Enten on CNN discuss the details of the recent polls. Those polls show that the democratic voters have a bad view of the party in general and of leadership in patericlar. For example the favorability of the democratic party leadership in 2006 was +28. In 2018 it was +19. And in 2026 it was -4. The clip from CNN gave a lot of information.

Because they said that, I want to know: how many local, district, and state Dem party meetings did any of these people attend, and for how long consecutively? If the answer is none, they are not informed and should not be informing people. Again because you did not watch the video you don’t know it was not about Sam and Emma’s opinion but they do provide that later. But I feel you are wrong in assuming that the only way to be informed is to go to party meetings to hear talking points. I feel very well informed and I don’t go to party meetings or go in person to town halls. I feel I can be better informed by reading news, reading articles based on the news of what the party has done or what members have said, and watching videos including podcasts that show clips of what party members, party leaders, and elected officials have done and said.

Let’s discuss your idea that Sam Seder who has been reporting and studying politics for well over 20 years doesn’t know what he is talking about. Emma also has been a political reporter covering politicians and candidates before she started on The Majority Report. These people read and study the subject, they understand the public’s reactions to politicians and what politicians do. They interview candidates on the show, they show clips from many different sources, and they host guests who are experts in their fields. I would say they are far more qualified than most to voice an opinion on politics, candidates, and office holders.

Does this inflammatory video inform viewers how to become involved and able to do something about what this headline purports is their problem? If not, they have no room to be stating what they state. Tell me Ali how you know it is inflammatory when you did not watch it? The fact is, again, the hosts discuss the information presented in the polls reported by Harry Enten. As to do they inform the public, yes they are doing that in this clip. But more importantly as you don’t watch the show and won’t watch the clips / interviews you don’t realize they do offer suggestions and ways people can get involved. They often give out information on what groups people can contact to either get involved in politics themselves, register their opinion, or to stay more informed. They often host candidates for office, discussing the things the candidate endorses and their record in office. They host guests who are well versed in their fields and those guests provide indepth information not normally in the broadcast news shows. So yes they have the room to state what they state and what they think is going on with the political situation in the country.

There are ways to do things. Many of these things are easily done. Working for clicks and money, even if the money is “non-corporate”, does not make an authority on these subjects. I think I covered this but again there is more than one way to stay informed. I really think you are seriously biased against the show if you think they work just for clicks and money. These are people who love politics. Which gets me to your next point.

Just my .02. Having done and continuing to do the work I speak of, I will not change my mind about bros who only want to watch everything burn, then boss the rest of us around. Again calling legislative offices, writing letters of concern, and sitting in party meetings / town halls are not the only ways to stay / be informed. But I have no idea why you think the hosts of that show want to watch everything burn. They clearly want the opposite. They want a better party that works for the country, and they want better leadership that can effectively work for the public to get things done that help the people. They want politicians who are more responsive to the public and working people than they are to the wealthy donors and big money lobbyist groups. And so do I. They point out the failings of some politicians, and they highlight the ones doing better work for the people.

It is clear that the Democratic Party shifted greatly from being the party of the working lower income people to courting the big money especially in Silicon Valley / big tech. So much so that in 2025 the republicans used the slogan “party of the working people” to refer to themselves. tRump claimed to be looking out for the lower-income workers when he campaigned in 2024. In a time when the base and the majority of left leaning voters clearly are unhappy with Israel and the genocide they are committing in that region the democratic party leader in the Senate said his priority was keeping the party / left supporting Israel. That is because AIPAC has captured the leadership of the party in both houses of congress. Even the majority of the democratic caucus doesn’t support Israel anymore. So how is pointing out the truth wanting to watch everything burn down?

This stuff is why Democrats can’t get anywhere; it’s what Pres. Obama meant by “the professional Left.” There is a professional left, and Obama was part of it. It is the same groups who have advised and run the major campaigns since the time of Bill Clinton using the same failing playbooks and moving to the right strategies. They are the James Carville / Rahm Emanuel types who say don’t offer any suggestions or ideas that might piss of the big money donors and just stay quiet while people get so sick of tRump they will massively vote for the democrats. Yes people are sick of tRump and the republicans but unless the democrats offer the people something to vote for instead of just voting against people just won’t vote. They will stay home. Every democrat who has won this year has run on ways to help people in the current time and positive ways to fight republican polices. These same advisors of the professional left have been advising democratic canidates to move more to the right so they can get the attention of Republican voters. Again people don’t want republican lite. People who will vote republican will want the real thing and those who want a left candidate will stay home.

The professional left are the corporate senior democrats who have been in elected office for decades and refuse to step aside for younger people of the more current society to take over. People in their 70s, 80s, and even 90s of both parties who are stuck in the past and not connected with the modern age. Those running for office when they are 78 years old. Those who feel that the goal of public office is to enrich themselves and to gain as much political capital and power as possible. And to gain that political power and capital they need big money donors and lobbying groups that not only donate but also can do favors for the office holder. That is the professional left, not the podcasters and progressive writers who report what they see and hear. Hugs
