NH Rep Objects To Child Marriage Law Because “Ripe And Fertile” Underage Girls Might Opt For Abortions
If you go to the link, you will see one state representative claimed he started having relations with his wife when they were 16 and they did not need input from anyone else. He then claims that he considers they were married from that point, even though they did not get legally married until they were adults. Which says a lot of about his mind set. Seriously, nothing in the bill prohibits what he and his girlfriend did. They had teenage sex. They did not get married then. The bill says girls can not be forced to get married if they are minors. Period. Because if there were loopholes people who want an as the article says one representative described minor girls as a ripe, fertile age and may have a pregnancy and a baby involved. He sees girls / women as breeding stock. Just something to carry the man’s issue to term. Hugs. Scottie
The New Hampshire Bulletin reports:
The New Hampshire House passed a bill Thursday raising the legal age of marriage to 18, sending the legislation to Gov. Chris Sununu’s desk after years of advocacy. Senate Bill 359, which passed 192-174, states that “no person below the age of 18 years shall be capable of contracting a valid marriage, and all marriages contracted by such persons shall be null and void.” Under present law, that age is 16.
Rep. Jess Edwards argued that taking away the possibility of marriage could lead more 16- and 17-year-olds to abortion. “If we continually restrict the freedom of marriage as a legitimate social option, when we do this to people who are a ripe, fertile age and may have a pregnancy and a baby involved, are we not in fact making abortion a much more desirable alternative, when marriage might be the right solution for some freedom-loving couples?” he said.

Court: Cultist GA GOP Official Voted Illegally 9 Times
Republicans are convinced there is massive voter fraud. Yes there is a small amount, they are correct. But that is because they are the ones doing it. I want you to note this republican guy voted fraudulently 9 times knowing he couldn’t do that. A black woman in Texas got five years for voting as a person on parole after being told she could vote by poll workers and her parole officer never told her she couldn’t vote. Plus her vote was a provisional one that was not counted, his were counted. An appeals court overturned her sentence but of course asshole AG Paxton himself a criminal, bigot, and racist has appealed that to have her sentence reinstated. DeathSantis in Florida sent police to arrest black former felons on charges of voter fraud that were later all dismissed after the election. It is all about republican racists suppressing the black vote. Republicans have no platform, they have no interest in helping the country, no interest in serving the public. They are interested in helping their bank accounts and serving their business big money donors so to do those things they need to be rulers not representatives. Hugs. Scottie
Five Red States Sue Over “Tyrannical” Move To Require Background Checks When Guns Are Sold At Gun Shows
What by my dogs that love gravy is it with these assholes and their ammosexual position. I just posted that police had to kill a 14 year old with a gun outside a school. What mythical world do they live in. While they have armed protection, often paid for by taxpayers and their kids go to secure private schools, the rest of us are living in the hellscape they are creating. And for what? The NRA is all but destroyed. So the need not worry about being on their wrong side. The culture war is all they have to run on, they offer no helpful policies for the public, just their wealthy donors and themselves. Hugs. Scottie

Rarely have I thought that a single quote would justify a diary — but after reading Yale historian, Timothy Snyder’s X thread that was posted yesterday — a clear-eyed delineation of the right-wing justices’ placement of dynamite at the door of Democracy, revealing how even the key objection to their inexplicable consideration of “immunity” is blunting what it really means, I felt it was important to place it here.
The link to the thread is here. The unbroken quote is below (the bolding within, mine):
Right-wing justices postulate Trump’s “immunity.” The objection is that this makes him a king. Not so. It’s much worse.
A king can be subject to law. Even George III was subject to law. The American Revolution was justified by the notion that he had overstepped the law.
This discussion of immunity is something else.
The justices are not discussing any constitutional system at all, including a constitutional monarchy.
Justices are instead flirting with the idea that a single person can be outside any constitutional system, outside the rule of law as such. What justices seem to find charismatic is dictatorship, specifically fascist dictatorship. It is making an exception for a person that attracts them.
That is the basis of Nazi legal theory (Carl Schmitt). The law and the constitution are just there so we can find the person, the Leader, the Führer, who breaks them, who makes an exception.Snyder then noted that he wasn’t making any specific claims that the justices “read Schmitt” — but that their “affinity for fascist law” is “troubling”.The point here, being: “immunity” isn’t simply making a president (and in this case, an ex-President and all future presidents) a “king” — it’s placing them beyond even that which kings are subject to.Fascism coming to America would no longer be a mere specter — a barricade or position from which we fight to protect our Democracy from the threat of those who would seek fascism here; it will have arrived. We would, from that point on, exist behind enemy lines. And existing there, we may find ourselves, as a people now all-but powerless against tyranny, longing even for the days of kings — who were, beneath their crowns, at least subject to the rule of law.
