I can’t believe this month is past half over! Anyway, I think the guys here will particularly enjoy Bee’s selection for Wednesday, “Peace Somehow.” It sounds like it fits with other music the guys have posted, genre-wise.
As Bee participates in the bloggers’s Global Strike For Gaza, here is her Thursday Peace Music post early (not to us, of course, as it’ll be Thursday when this post goes up.) Bee’s message with this one is important for each of us to take to heart.
My selection for today:
This time, Bee gives us music with which we might find peace within. It’s nice! Her words are inspiring for seeking peace.

Bee’s post is eloquent! There is/was not a video in the post, but she named the song, and gives great background on the artist and the song. I checked YouTube, found the one I hope is the right one, and posted it beneath Bee’s entry here. She has posted this one in the past; I recall it. It’s beautiful and perfectly expressive. Well worth a repeat listen!

My selection is one many young adults at the time took as an anthem; it was a very real every day concern then, and that concern does seem to be back with us now, though maybe people aren’t as concerned as before. There is good reason for concern, and for de-proliferation, and peace.
And now, the music. I’m putting both the German version (best one!) and the English language version, which is also just fine to dance to. “You can’t dance and stay uptight.”
Bee shares some music from Emanuel Jal, along with his story of surviving being trained as a child soldier in Sudan to escaping to be adopted in Canada, and practicing/crafting his art. Go see!

I am a huge Stevie Wonder fan; as bad as any given day has ever been, if I hear him, the day gets better. This is not Stevie Wonder, it’s Playing For Change doing a fine job with a Stevie song, in the name of peace. Enjoy!

Leave the volume up for this one, too. Yes, it seems Christmasy, but it’s a peace song. We used to go to Wichita to see them every year. They told the story during the concert. From notes on the video:
“For anyone who wants to know the story of this song, I looked it up: The city of Sarajevo was in a war with another city, in the middle of the Bosnian War, and his city was destroyed by his own people. Desperate to do something the old man would go to the highest place he could find, and play music on his cello, things like Mozart and Beethoven. A reporter went to try and find him and ask why he did such a crazy thing. He responded because it was his only way to show that there was still a little bit of humanity in the world.”
