Very well said TG. It is time for the Democrats and the non-right wing media to stop playing nice and acting like it would be the worst break in decorum to clearly say what is going on and who is doing it. While the Democrats are trying to pretend they are in a PG prime time sitcom with little kids watching, the Republicans are out for blood taking people’s rights away, rigging elections, stopping people from voting, and calling anyone that disagrees with them a pedophiles and child sexual groomers. It makes no sense and makes the Democrats look not only out of touch with reality, but that they don’t care if they win or not. Democrats like Pelosi saying on nation TV interviews that we need a strong Republican party, and she wants a strong republican party repeatedly while stumbling over her words due to the attempts to hide her true age, and Chuck Schumer who cannot seem to understand or use the power of Senate Majority Leader, is doubling as a sleeping aid or someone’s old grandfather forgotten at the family reunion talking to the air around him about the good old days. These way past the time they retire fossils are in danger of letting their egos and their desire for corporate campaign contributions of causing the country to fall to the rabid hateful authoritarian right that wants to regress the country back to either the 1850s or the 1600s depending on which SCOTUS judge they love the most. One of the hallmarks of our era is the way that being polite is more important than being accurate, and so is of interest to us that suddenly public figures are choosing accuracy. Gone are the days of My Friend From XYZ and now it’s Elise Stefanik The Fascist From NY. (And make no mistake, she really is espousing fascism.)
Following the horrifying mass shooting in Buffalo, the WaPo thought it was important to note that Stefanik, the third-ranking House Republican, had echoed the “great replacement” rhetoric:

I follow/read VERY few “political” blogs. I don’t even read all of your politically-oriented posts because I’m just not that into the topic. (I do admit some of your posts include some pretty far-out news items that I probably wouldn’t come across otherwise (!), so there’s that. 😁) Plus, I read news blurbs via Google News at least once a day so I’m pretty aware of what’s going on. And of course, blogs by Jill and Jeff (Brookingslib) are on my list,
I think my interests tend more to debunking Christianity — and all the stuff related to that. But my follow list is pretty limited even of those blogs. In fact, I just started following one that has turned out to be “overkill” so I’m going to remove it.

Hello Nan. The last few days have been better for me. No walking, driving, standing, and days of rest have really helped. I heard something yesterday I wanted to share with you. Out of the 8 leaders of the democrats in congress Chuck Schumer is the youngest … at 71 years old. He is the youngest of the 8 people in leadership positions. Damn, these people are entrenched. And Nancy Pelosi is campaigning for a corporate Democrat who the FBI has raided his home and office looking to charge him with corruption who is also anti-abortion and voted with Republicans, over his opponent who is a progressive pro-choice person who seems to be better able to win the seat. I would tend to say that at her age (and approaching senility), she’s probably been compromised in some way or another and is unable to recognize it and/or see the person for what he is. THIS is what we’re up against in these government fossils!

Hello Nan. I agree. On TYT the hosts seem to imply she is working to keep corporate control over the caucus rather than have more progressives. She openly campaigns and works against progressives now. She used to pretend that she was not doing that, but she is not hiding it now. First she made it a rule you couldn’t challenge an incumbent but broke her own rule to help a challenger to a progressive, the challenger lost. She has donated money and support to corporate members of the House but not to progressive members. She now is working for a very corporate forced birth democrat against a progressive challenger who is pro-choice while at the same time she is on the news claiming she needs more pro-choice Democrats. I think that most of the entire congress has been bought and paid for and we are all screwed. Hugs

Your last line about being bought and paid for is spot-on. We the people have little to NO control over what happens in this country anymore. Oh sure … we can VOTE and occasionally, have a bit of sway on who gets into office, but once they’ve taken “the oath” (which they then ignore), our “control” has vanished into thin air.
My other-half and I are on the fence about the second boosters. NOT because we don’t trust them (even though one individual in blog world repeatedly!! writes of the “dangers” 😠) — we just think we may wait until later in the year when the weather turns cold again and more people are staying indoors.
