‘Hateful’ anti-LGBTQ graduation speech at Ohio high school sparks outrage

These people just will not stop preaching their religious church doctrines to captive audiences in inappropriate times.  Plus this is the real indoctrinating of children that the right keeps claiming is happening.   Funny the school made the video private so they did not want it getting out but some of it has.  Hugs

A high school graduation speech telling students to “choose a spouse” based on “biblical principles”  is sparking outrage online.

“Choose a spouse, I suggest,” alumnus Jim McGuire said in a commencement address at River Valley High School in Caledonia, Ohio. “I also strongly suggest to make sure to choose biblical principles, you know a male with a female and female with a male.”

Caledonia, about an hour north of Columbus, had a population of 560 in the 2020 census.

Since the speech last week, McGuire’s remarks have been called “hateful” and “inappropriate.”

Alexis Osipow, a 2018 River Valley graduate who was at the ceremony to support her younger sister, told the local newspaper, the Marion Star, “When he made the comment that marriage should only be between a man and a woman, my jaw dropped to the floor, and I honestly thought I was hearing it wrong.”

“I had to look around and see if other people were having the same reaction that I was, and they were,” she continued. “I felt like crying when I heard some people in the crowd clapping. But I was absolutely outraged and so were my parents and brother. I heard people behind me whispering about how inappropriate the comment was as well.”

River Valley High School made the video of the graduation ceremony private, but portions of McGuire’s speech circulated on social media platforms.

One Twitter user wrote, “He made himself the center of attention instead of the graduates and their accomplishments. He should take his ignorant views back to the 1950s.”

One user on Facebook shared a post with a clip of McGuire’s speech and a caption asking the administration to address the “hateful speech.” The user also extended sympathy to LGBTQ graduates, writing, “I am sorry this hateful speech overshadowed your amazing achievements and this incredibly special milestone in your lives.

McGuire, a business owner and board member of the Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities, told NBC News in an email, “My speech was not anti-anything. There was not a negative word or statement in speech to anyone or organization … Being positive is who I am.”

He also shared a statement he sent to the high school, in which he said, “I truly had the best interests of the Graduates in mind; the Graduates were my audience.”

The school administration released a statement Monday saying: “The speech was not reviewed by anyone on the River Valley Administrative team or Board of Education. Any views expressed by the speaker during his commencement speech reflected his personal beliefs. He was not speaking as an official representative of River Valley Local Schools.”

The superintendent of River Valley local schools added, “The alumni speaker was not a member of the River Valley staff and he was not speaking as an official representative of River Valley Local Schools.”

Extremist Site Gab: America Is Being “Terrorized By Maniacal Transvestites Who Want Genderless Future”

Great cats loving gravy, what drugs do these people take?   I am serious this rant is deranged.   But these people really believe it, and the sex symbols they want to return to were often gay but hiding it.   The truth is what he wants is white Christian straight male power.   White Christian straight male authority over women and everyone else.  How many times the article says that equality is wrong, that women must be servants to the male with no rights or it destroys humanity and western culture.  Notice that he blames falling birthrates on women, he blames stealing kid’s virtue on drag queens / trans people.    The only one he never blames for anything bad are the men.   The men that run the country, the men who refuse to pay living wages so people can afford kids, the men raping and molesting kids, the men are not the problem according to him who is male.   To solve the world’s problems, give all power to straight white Christian males who will take the country back to 1950.  That was when white straight Christian males were the boss of everything, women obeyed men serving their needs, other religions were not considered a real thing, blacks / minorities knew their place and stayed there, and the LGBTQ+ were deeply hidden too terrified to attract notice.   That is the equality that saves the country and makes god happy.   Hugs

Via press release from Nazi-haven social media site Gab:

Our culture is what we hand on to our children, but the West isn’t having children. The birth rates are down, and people are wondering why we aren’t having babies. Our men and women aren’t making big families and our communities are becoming sterile and childless.

This is a crisis that’s been building for generations. Sterility is the real climate change crisis of our time. The poles are melting but it’s not the ice caps, it’s the sex symbols.

We have trashed our sex symbols in only three generations. The icons of male and female have been ruined by equality of the sexes, and the West has become almost indistinguishable from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. We’re being terrorized by maniacal transvestites who want a genderless future.

Have you ever heard the phrase “You sound like a girl”? What is it about speech that can give away somebody’s sex? There is something in the detail of our tongue that gives it away.

We understand this on an instinctive level, but as a culture, we’ve forgotten that boys and girls are supposed to sound distinct and speak differently to each other.

Husbands marry and wives are married. This follows the pattern of Christ who redeems and marries His Bride. Christ gives His Body and Blood, and the Church receives Holy Communion.

God calls Israel to the wedding feast, and in His parable, the wise virgins trim their wicks until the Bridegroom appears to take them. The women are not running to the groom any more than mankind can run to God. He had to come to us to redeem us.

Do you see the pattern? There is active and passive in these icons. Christianity is marriage. Equality cannot exist in marriage.

Our culture is a cult of equality. The strange irony is that terms for active and passive lovers exist in homosexual slang, but not that of normal couples. I hate to say it, but the rainbow people have clearer terms for these dynamics than most straight people do.

What is it about magnets that give them their unique properties? They aren’t equal. There is a passive and active property to them, and they work on a polarity of positive and negative. Magnets either attract or repel according to their force. Opposites attract and stick. Magnets that lose their polarity lose their sticking power, just like men and women.

Drag Queen Story Hour is the Rocky Horror Picture Show for your children. It’s a linguistic sex-change program. The drag scientists want to destroy the virtue of children and their sense of sexual reality. How can we repair the damage that these “Frank-N-Furter’s” have done to the little Brad and Janets of the world?

Traditionalists need to talk ourselves out of this deadly transgendered sterility and back into our right minds as masculine and feminine creators. We must teach children to talk unequally and uniquely. If we restore the culture of opposites, we can restore the sex symbols. Our culture depends on it.

Idiot! Having children or not is a very personal choice. There’s no law that says that you must have children. We chose to have them. We worked hard providing for them and making them good, caring people. Not everybody does that.

The birth rate had already been steadily declining for most of the 20th century. Then during the 1970s it leveled out. It has been remarkably steady since. Rising or falling by only a few percentage points for the last 50 years.

Like the gun issue where they blame everything but the guns these people refuse to acknowledge that “low birth rates” are a direct result of 40+ years of failed conservative economic policy. Happy, well off people have kids. Miserable people, in debt, who own nothing, waiting out the latest boom-bust cycle do not.

Louie Gohmert: Navarro’s Arrest Proves How Unfair It Is That Republicans “Can’t Even Lie To The FBI” [VIDEO]

Seriously, do these people hear themselves?   This shows they have for a long time thought they were above the laws.   What is the world coming to when Republicans are held to account for lying to Congress or lie to an FBI agent.   Hell I am really starting to hate the professional political class.    Hugs

“It actually puts an exclamation point on the fact that we have a two-tiered justice system. If you’re a Republican, you can’t even lie to Congress or lie to an FBI agent or they’re coming after you. They’re gonna bury you, they’re gonna put in a DC jail and terrorize you and torture you and not live up to the Constitution.” – Loony Louie Gohmert, responding to Peter Navarro being charged with contempt of Congress. Gohmert later agrees with a Newsmax host that it’s “no big deal to lie to the FBI.” Watch the clip.

Too stupid to realize you don’t have to answer questions. Why lie, when you could let your attorney answer? It’s confirmation of how often they lie in general and have never read the Constitution either.

GOP Rep Abruptly Drops Reelection Bid After Days Of Far-Right Backlash For Backing Assault Weapons Ban

This is why no Republican will stand up for any reasonable gun control measures.   Their base is rabid gun sexuals, and their big money donors are demanding they kill any restrictions on their profits.   So when one Republican stood up for a small restriction to save lives, they threw him out of the party.   Hugs

First, this from the New York Post:

The Republican and Conservative parties are leaving GOP Rep. Chris Jacobs for dead following his call for a federal ban on assault weapons in response to the massacre by an avowed white supremacist in Buffalo.

“This is not the person we endorsed. We did not endorse this Chris Jacobs … he’s actually to the left of [US House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi on this,” Conservative Party state Chair Gerard Kassar told the Post Thursday about his party withdrawing support for Jacobs’ reelection.

The embattled Erie congressman has incurred the wrath of of his party’s far right since saying last week he would support an assault weapons ban, raising the age to purchase semi-automatic rifles and limiting ammunition capacity in gun magazines.

And below is the result of his stand. Jacobs, not incidentally, voted against certifying the result of the 2020 presidential election and against both of Trump’s impeachments.

I just can’t understand how or why gun control has become such a political football. Insanely Perverted Ohio Law Seeks To Root Out Suspected Transgender Athletes

A new bill proposed in Ohio would ban all transgender athletes from competing in school and college sports despite only one transgender athlete competing in the state. If that wasn’t horrible enough the bill also requires suspected trans athletes to undergo a genital examination to be cleared for competition. Cenk Uygur, Jayar Jackson, and Amy Vilela discuss on The Young Turks.

Read more HERE: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/genita…

“Ohio House Republicans passed a bill late Tuesday that bans all transgender students from playing high school and college sports, and requires genital exams in any disputes. Representatives voted on House Bill 151 on the first day of Pride Month.

The measure next goes to the Senate after lawmakers return from summer recess. If the bill becomes law, it would take precedence over all current policies by high school and college sports associations.

The existing association policies, which aim to protect medical privacy and stress inclusion, take into account testosterone levels or the length of time an athlete has been transitioning, Cleveland.com reported.

The new bill calls for an outright ban on transgender athletes. Under the measure, if a player’s sex is disputed, he or she will have to present a physician’s statement about “internal and external reproductive anatomy” and testosterone levels. Students would also have to show an analysis of genetic makeup.”

Wisconsin Judge Killed By Apparent Militia Member, Dem Governor Reportedly Also On Hit List Of Officials

This is the right wing today.  They are a gang of thugs.   This is why they love bullies like DeathSantis and tRump.  These people think forcing everyone to do as they command / demand is acceptable, might make it right.   They don’t want gun control, civil rights, or any cooperative tolerant society because it removes their power to rule over others.   Hugs

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports:

A 68-year-old man was shot and killed in a targeted attack in his home in New Lisbon early Friday. Sources told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the victim was retired Juneau County Judge John Roemer, who retired from the bench in 2017.

Attorney General Josh Kaul said the assailant appeared to be targeting others as well. Sources told the Journal Sentinel that Gov. Tony Evers was among them, but Kaul declined to provide any names during a brief news conference in Mauston.

“The individual who’s a suspect appears to have had other targets as well, appears to be related to the judicial system,” Kaul said. Those names are not being released at this time, Kaul said, but the other targets have been notified.

Wisconsin Public Radio reports:

A source close to the investigation tells WTMJ’s John Mercure the 56-year-old suspect was part of a militia and he had with him a hit list that included the names of several elected officials including Governor Tony Evers. When asked if they were notified of the apparent threat, the Governor’s Office said they do not comment on specific threats or the governor’s security detail.

Following a failed attempt to negotiate with a person inside the home, the Juneau County Special Tactics and Response Team entered the residence and located the homeowner, a 68 year old man deceased. A 56 year old man, identified as the suspect, was located in the basement with an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. He was alive and has since been transported to a hospital.

This is a violent criminal who should be locked up to protect society. But militia membership or no, once you’re in the criminal justice system, you’re in it for life. I was arrested on a non-violent drug charge 50 years ago, and every time I’m stopped or have to interact with the police, that charge comes up. There’s no such thing as a reformed criminal in the eyes of the law. Once a criminal, always a criminal, until the day you die.

Man Gets Life In Fatal Attack On MN Health Clinic

Law & Crime reports:

Jurors convicted a man of murder and other charges after hearing him testify that he shot up a Minnesota health clinic. Gregory Paul Ulrich, 69, will get a mandatory sentence of life in prison for the homicide in a hearing scheduled for June 17.

Medical assistant Lindsay Overbay, 37, died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, with the round passing through her liver and spine before exiting out her back. Four other clinic staffers survived getting shot.

Authorities said there were years of build up, as Ulrich engaged in threats and homicidal ideation against local healthcare providers.

Minneapolis’s CBS News affiliate reports:

He told the court he has been experiencing pain since 2016 after a surgery addressing scoliosis. He said he was given two months of pain medication, and was then cut off for refills despite persistent and unbearable pain.

He said he asked over 50 medical professionals to help with his pain, and after being denied he sent letters to law enforcement, Sen. Amy Klobuchar and former President Donald Trump.

The state showed a video Urlich made a little more than a month before the shooting, where he says to the camera, “Grab your f—ing pistol. Go down there and kill as many nurses as you can.” In the video, he says he’s “saving all seniors” who are living in pain.

Louisiana House passes bills targeting abortion doctors, pills as Roe v. Wade decision looms

U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise, R-LA, top middle snaps a picture as Rep. Laurie Schlegel, R-Jefferson, red dress hand up, is sworn in at the beginning of legislative House Chamber action Monday May 10, 2021, in Baton Rouge, La.  Photo: Sponsor Rep. Julie Emerson, who sits on the board of trustees for the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

The Louisiana House approved Thursday night two anti-abortion bills that restricts access to abortions in preparation for the expected U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade after nearly half a century.

One bill criminalizes selling abortion pills through the mail. The second measure would immediately close all abortion clinics, criminalize most pregnancy termination actions, and send physicians who perform the procedures to prison.

Both bills – Senate Bill 342 and Senate Bill 388 – were passed overwhelmingly by a Louisiana House that rarely has voted against an anti-abortion measure over the years. The legislation now returns across Memorial Hall with requests that the Senate approve of wording added by the House. If both chambers agree before Monday’s adjournment, both bills head to Gov. John Bel Edwards to sign into law or veto.

Louisiana is one of 13 states with legal trigger that go into effect should the high court overturn Roe. A leaked draft opinion suggests that a majority of Supreme Court justices support returning the authority over abortions to individual states.

Senate Bill 342, which was approved 72-25, establishes how Louisiana will operate should that be case.

“It will prohibit abortion in the state of Louisiana,” said state Rep. Julie Emerson, R-Carencro, who was managing the Senate-passed measure sponsored by Sen. Katrina Jackson, D-Monroe, on the House floor.

The measure coordinates and clarifies the 100 or so anti-abortion laws that have been passed during the past 49 years. About 29 definitions were regularized and wording was inserted into about two dozen laws that underscored the Legislature’s intention “to prohibit and restrict abortion.”

In addition to clarifying language, the measure now puts part of the anti-abortion law in the criminal code and levies penalties. But the woman who terminates her pregnancy would not face criminal charges.

A doctor, or anyone else, found guilty of performing an abortion would face prison for not less than one year nor more than 10 years and be fined not less than $10,000 nor more than $100,000. If the abortion is late term, with or without the woman’s consent, the sentences increase to a hard labor prison term of one to 15 years and a $20,000 to $200,000 fine.

Emerson submitted 15-pages of amendments – drafted by Jackson with the help of Louisiana Right to Life – to the seven-page bill. “This amendment is to make as clear as possible what is intended here,” Emerson said.

SB342 would allow abortions removing a fetus that has died in the womb; removing an ectopic pregnancy, in which the egg implants in one of the mother’s fallopian tubes; saving the life of the mother; removal of a fetus that isn’t viable outside the womb or is diagnosed with a chromosomal abnormality.

But there is no exception for rape or incest.

“We’re putting an 11-year-old in the position of having a baby,” said Rep. Aimee Adatto Freeman, D-New Orleans.

Democratic Rep. Cedric Glover, D-Shreveport, attempted to add an exception for rape and incest, but was refused on a vote of 37 to 62.

Senate Bill 388 would clarify criminal penalties for distribution of abortion pills. The House approved that measure 72-24.

With the expected end of most surgical abortions in Louisiana, more women are likely to turn to the two-pill procedure that terminate their pregnancies.

The legislation is needed to address that loophole, said Rep. Laurie Schlegel, the Metairie Republican handling the measure on the House floor for state Sen. Sharon Hewitt, R-Slidell. “The purpose is to stop online, do it yourself abortions,” Schlegel said.

The two pills that can terminate pregnancies are mifepristone, which causes an embryo to detach from the uterine wall and is followed a day or two later with misoprostol that pushes the embryo out of the uterus.

Current law requires a prescription and that the pills are taken under a physician’s supervision. But the pills are legal, easy to find and obtain online. They can be mailed to the homes of anyone who buys them.

“How can the state of Louisiana regulate interstate commerce?” asked Rep. Mandie Landry, referring to trade over state lines, which the U.S. Constitution reserves for the federal government.

“I don’t know how they can stop it unless they’re waiting at the post office,” Landry added.

Schlegel said the sponsor of the measure had checked with prosecutors and was assured that SB388 was constitutional.

The proposal expands the definition for the crime of criminal abortion to include the delivering, dispensing, distributing, or providing a pregnant woman with an abortion-inducing drug when physician is not part of the process.

Distributors and vendors would face a prison term of five to 10 years and a fine of $10,000 to $75,000, or both. If the woman seeking an abortion is under the age of 18, the criminal penalty increases to imprisonment at hard labor for 15 to 50 years, a $15,000 to $100,000 fine, or both.

MTG Claims That Only “Christian Nationalism” Can Stop School Shootings And “Domestic Terrorist Democrats”

Here is Marge Greene saying the quiet part out loud again.  Push a Christian national state, a theocracy.   Religious freedom for white Christians only.    Yes white, because you know these people are big time die hard racists.   Hugs

“If Christian nationalism is something to be scared of, they’re lying to you. And they’re lying to you on purpose because that is exactly the temperature change that is happening in America today and they can’t control it. They can’t control it and that’s what terrifies them the most.

“You see, if we’re going to label it Christian nationalism, this movement will actually be the movement that stops the school shootings. This will be the movement that stops the crime in our streets.

“This will be the movement that stops the sexual immorality and teaches children and brings them up in traditional families and loving homes.

“This will be the movement that protects kids’ innocence and nurtures them into responsible adults that grow up to be successful moms and dads wanting to pursue a family of their own.

“This will be the movement that finally does something about our debt, because that’s something that all of us should be ashamed of. It should have never happened.

“This will be the movement that cares about broken and lost communities, communities that are always forgotten about. Christians should never forget about those people and we don’t.

“So while the media is going to lie about you and label it Christian nationalism and they’re probably going to call it domestic terrorism, I’m gonna tell you right now, they’re the liars.

“And if anybody is a domestic terrorist, it’s the radical left. They’re the domestic terrorists.

“We can even say the Democrats are domestic terrorists because they funded them and they burned down our cities’ streets and rioted in 2020.

“So if we’re going to put labels on people, we should put labels where they appropriately belong.

“Not on Christians and not on people who love their country and want to take care of it.” – Notorious adulteress and self-proclaimed Christian Marjorie Taylor Greene, on her daily live-streaming show.

Dolphm • 19 hours ago

Any “Christian” movement is going to run into trouble when people from the many different Christian sects have to agree on what Christian principles and values are! Think about many Baptist sects there are now, and how many new splinter groups will there be in five years.

I once attended a ceremony where a friend was ordained as a deacon in a splinter group of the Anglican church in America. A Jewish friend leaned over during the ceremony and asked me to explain the difference between the group our friend (a retired Methodist minister) had joined and the Anglican church in England. I told her to think about how there were basically Orthodox Jews and Reformed Jews, and then there were a lot of Jews who were somewhere in between, depending on the issue of the day. She understood immediately.

Sure Marge. Christian Nationalism is sweeping the nation as the churches are emptying out, and the number of atheists/agnostics is at an all-time high.

“We can even say the Democrats are domestic terrorists because they funded them and they burned down our cities’ streets and rioted in 2020.”

What Democrats did over George Floyd was trivial compared to Republicans attacking Congress to try and overthrow the government. Right wing terror attacks like Timothy McVeigh are common in the U.S. while left wing terror attacks are virtually unheard of.

Democrats love peace, Republicans like you are trying to start a war against liberals.
