You doing a good job of ignoring the microphone but still centered on the camera, loosen up a little bit, learn to ignore it. Maybe move back two or three inches and pick up the cadence just a little and bring it on home. All of which will come with time and experience
And watch those um and ahs …

Hi Ten Bears. Thank you. The camera is on top of the monitor and what I look at is me in the monitor and when I glance over it is at the other monitor. I try not to look up at the camera but I guess I must if you notice it. We lowered the monitor and widened the camera angle because Ron wants to put a progress pride flag behind me and I needed to widen the shot to get all the flag. That might help with me pushing back a bit. Thanks for the tips everything I hear helps. I love to do the videos and they take a third of the time to do a written post, plus they don’t make my fingers hurt. Hugs. Scottie

Take a look at that Liv Miller video I posted this morning, I think it’s good example of what I think works. There’s not so much stuff to distract but looks “lived in” ~ also dampening the light and echo
My biggest complaint is with length. From my time teaching and in college/community and pirate radio I know you can’t hold someone’s attention for more than ten minutes, for thirty you gotta’ break it up
Nobody’s gonna’ look at me for thirty minutes …

Hi Ten Bears. Great suggestions. I am trying to keep the new ones to 10 minutes each. My own limit for watching videos is 20 to 30 minutes. We are working on the lighting but nothing can be fixed about the lighting until Ron gets the flag up. The worst thing is when I play the videos back there is an underneath the voice a low hum / rumble I can not figure out where it comes from. I have heard that there is software that can remove that, but I don’t know any. Do you know good free sound recording software? I am trying hard to listen and learn from what people say. Eventually I want to do almost all videos. It is so much easier and less time consuming for me. But it is no good if people can’t stand to listen or watch it. I am also worried about the video. On my end it stutters, but the computer used to and should handle the camera well. But the cameras I had went through hours of rain and hurricane winds when the roof and one wall were ripped off my office. James got my stuff inside as quickly as he could when he realized it, but it still some of the stuff was damaged. I don’t know if I need to replace the camera or not. Thank you for all your help. Hi Jill. Thank you. I love doing the videos, and I will get smoother as I practice. But I won’t lose the parts that are the personal touch because it is too much fun. I don’t want to write scripts and read it, I might was well do a written post. But the videos are fun, I can cover more information and add my own voice to it far better than I can when I write. Plus it doesn’t hurt my shoulder and fingers. I would like to get up to doing maybe two or three a day. That will give me time to get to other people’s posts. But I will keep doing the meme posts. Hi Ali. Thank you. I love doing it. I used to do several a day before and got away from them. Now they are not as good as my old ones were. I am having lighting issues, camera issues, and sound issues. All of which I don’t know how to fix right now. Ron says get anything I need because he also likes me doing the videos, and I do want an editing software but the rest I don’t know what I need to fix the issues. I welcome any suggestions people make to make them better. Did you go to my old channel to see the videos and how much my looks changed? Hugs. Scottie

Well, I have not compared. I remember back when I started reading you, that you mentioned doing vidoes, so I went and subscribed to that channel, but you know I have a tough time with videos, and at the time your blog was a-bloom with your posts, so I didn’t watch very often. I’ll check it out when I watch today’s vid. I bet it is interesting. I kinda think you must be smaller in girth now, after all your adventures this past year, and the weight loss.
