  1. I’ve just heard a list of things I personally as a leader would not be doing in a nation that has many guns as the USA has (Sorry folks if that sounds harsh- you need to check the history other nations where the government has tried to put the lid on)

    1. Hi Roger. The first thing tRump did was put someone in charge of the military who is a black out drunk, credibly accused of domestic violence against his wives, was fired from running several non-profits because he couldn’t manage the money or people, he was having to be stopped by his friends from running on stage at a strip club of women to join the performers. That guy then fired the senior military officers who were black or female. He has gone on a purge of any non-white non-male people from Department of Defense websites including the famous military cemetery Arlington National Cemetery. He has illegally pushed the white supremacist Christian nationalism on every aspect of the military. Every person tRump nominated for government offices / positions was somehow compromised so he would have better control over them.

Now do you think when he orders the new military heads to fire on the US public like he did last time that they will refuse as they did last time. No that was the plan, this time the military will do as he orders no matter how illegal. I don’t care how many militias there are with how many guns, they can not stand up to the full power of the US military and national Law enforcement such as the FBI, Secret Service, and the US marshals who are no longer bound by the laws, court orders, nor general acts of proper police behavior. No the fact is there might be small scale domestic terrorism acts, but no way the private people with a gun, a lot of them drunken yahoos, can stand up to the full force of the government tRump now wields. Most people did not understand the US was well on the way to becoming a police state before tRump, it is almost fully one now with tRump and thugs in charge. Hugs

      1. The underlining criminally irresponsible theme here is that Trump is appointing people on the basis that they are going be folk who will be an anathema to the Liberal wing of the USA public.
A childish tantrum approach. It will divide the nation akin to pre civil war times.
Putin must be pleased. Even if Trump does make threatening noise to Russia from time to time the Kremlin knows it is all fuss and feathers.

            1. Hi Roger. History is written by the winners, the victors. I worry that in the US that will mean tRump, the Oligarchs, and the maga cult. I just read 8 democrats in Michigan broke with the democrats to join with republicans to pass anti-trans legislation. The right has built up so much momentum and steam rolled over all science, common sense, and facts while totally disregarding the law to get what they want. They are lawless thugs smashing all in their way. I am very discouraged because the old members of congress won’t move aside so the younger people can fight back. Hugs

              1. I am not in total agreement with the notion that History is written by the winner.
It is said in various forms of the American Civil war that whereas the Union won the war, the Southern states won the peace and the heritage.
Israel has come out winners in every war it has fought, and yet it still has to struggle to keep its security.
Nazi Germany was crushed and Hitler shot himself and yet how many fools walk around in Brown shirt and give Nazi salutes??
History may be a constant but Human Perceptions keep shifting.

Trump and his court have launched an offensive on the USA’s constitution, and progress over the past fifty years.
You could call it a Blitzkrieg. The thing is about Blitzkriegs they only have short term perceptions, they run out of steam, they are not geared for the Long War, ultimately in the strategic picture they fail.
Congress might not have the last say in this, nor The Whitehouse.
                Take care guys

                  1. Hope is always a tough call Scottie.
Hope when there appears to be no cause for Hope.
Hope when apparently all the evidence is against you.
Hope when there is no good news.
Hope the current reasoning says there is no cause for Hope.
And some day, when things change you will realise it was hope that got you through.

That’s me plagiarising this powerful poem

                    1. Hi Roger. Roger what I am about to write in the first few paragraphs come from a child who prayed for relief from my daily / nightly abuse. Especially after I was sent to a church boarding school. I had hope that maybe their god heard me finally, yet the very same day I was returned back from that school their god abandoned me to be raped and forced to give oral sex to males in the home. So please understand where what I wrote is coming from. I do not mean it as an attack on you or your faith. Just voicing my frustrations and ever deepening depression I am fighting. Hugs.

Is that what the Christian faith is all about? See I have always been someone to only believe what can be proven scientifically while realizing that science progresses constantly and what we knew via science 100 years ago is drastically different from what we know now. Even on biology and sexology what we knew 50 years ago was wrong and we know more in the last 20 years than ever before. Something clearly that many people especially low education or older people who are unable to accept a new social situation than they had in their prime.

But Roger maybe I am lashing out at something I somewhat understand as I feel helpless and unable to stop / fight back against what is happening in my country right now. I am listening to the top democrat in the Senate defend his capitulation to tRump and give the republican party what they wanted. While there are unsubstantiated reports he got calls from Wall Street wealthy telling him to do it, what he said in his quavering old man voice was … what if they did something worse so I had to hold the line by giving my approval over what they already had done.

WTF … hey they might do more of what they are doing unless I give in an OK what they have done so far. How to have hope when the highest democrat … the highest opposition member in the senate just gave in and gave the oppressors everything they wanted, gave them validation for the lawless acts they are doing. I am sorry but I can only call him a collaborator. I forget what they called them in the concentration camps. But that is what Chuck Schumer just became. I have to stop them from doing what they are doing by giving in and letting them do it with my approval.

Sorry Roger, this is so unfair of me. But I spent two days in bed most of the day slipping back in to depression. I have so much upset and worry about stuff at home with both the damage to the home (they are coming next week to replace the roof) and extreme concern over what Ron is going through. I am so frustrated. plus my own health is so damaged. Every finger nail is broke down into the quick due to … something no doctor can explain. I have three that broke so deeply down into the bed of the nail it is like someone jammed an object under my finger nail. Yet I am listening to the new CDC in charge person RFK say that getting measles is better than taking the vaccine. WTF.

OK I have bitched enough. Back to the original question on hope. Hope did not stop Hitler, hope did not save the people in the concentration camps. Hope did not save the non-gang members who got thrown on a plane with no due process at least one who was gay getting sent to a country where one can’t be gay at, another was a woman who was sent there to a prison that doesn’t accept women, and these people who did not break any criminal law because entering the US illegally is a civil law offense like speeding, it is not criminal. Yet I just listened to Tom Holand the head of border security claim on a national news show that judges / courts were not needed for due process, his ICE officers could decide right on the spot who was a terrorist and who was not. He pushed back hard that courts / due process were needed because his people knew it all.

Yet republicans and tRump admin people are claiming it is a huge criminal violation just to cross the boarder. Our own laws and treaties we have with other countries demand that people can cross the boarder and ask for asylum. I am yelling at the TV right now, Ron is worried I will lose my voice. Hugs

                    2. I can understand the storm of emotions which you must be experiencing Scottie.
With all you were forced to endure as a child, your health, your grave concerns over Ron’s suffering and the sometimes attendant feeling of helplessness.
These are then compounded with a folly enacted by a sizeable portion of the US population which makes our own Brexit lunacy seem a minor blip. The fact that Trump is back in the Whitehouse and in a destructive rampage like a frat party. All of these serve to test anyone.
You are justified in being outraged, angry, furious.

Hitler and his gang were stopped. A combination of folk, some not pleasant characters and not much in the way of nobility, but that worse alternative was stopped. It was a hard business and a jagged coalition who did act questionably often, but that worse alternative was not just stopped but crushed.
The irony was, the opposition arguably could not have done it without the vanity and folly not just of Hitler but those around him, including the then German armed forces who bought into his twisted ideas.

It’s a long road Trump is running down, but he has he eyes shut tight.

Anyway we will be thinking of you Scottie and Ron, sending him our regards and fondness to you both.

                      Roger & Sheila.

                    3. Hi Roger. You wrote. With all you were forced to endure as a child … I have been in a constant flashback of memories this last week. I can’t escape it. I even replied to Ten Bears with if he had been my real father, he wouldn’t have let me be taken and abused. That he would have come and save me no matter what it would take. But that was not what his comment was about. I just can’t find a way out of my past, out of my issues because the two people I would normally go to for help are in crisis themselves.

Normally I would turn to Ron … as you can imagine he wants to help but he is consumed by his own issues which I am trying to help him with. The other person I would normally turn to is having his own crisis so I must deal with this as best I can.

Roger as to your last comment and hope. I don’t have hope, I have fear of people who might be snatched up and get into an ice facility. Such as below. Hugs

                    4. I will not insult you Scottie with some of the usual somewhat often trite words of comfort.
Basically I will keep it plain.

We, Sheila and I, are with you. Sheila says to tell me to tell you she send her love to both of you.
We will be thinking of you both and wishing for this American nightmare to end.
                      Bless you both.
                      Roger & Sheila. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
