    1. Hi Ali. As a gay married man, I agree the red line was a long time ago. But sadly I like so many disadvantaged people and along with the LGBTQ community seeing their rights erased, I have to ask two questions.

      Why did the democrats not stand up for us sooner? That cost Kamala votes. The polls showed if she had stood up for the trans community being attacked she would have gained a larger vote total

      And why are they hiding from supporting us now? Again the party of old white men are refusing to take a stand on supporting the LGBTQ+ while Chuck Schumer attacks college students for standing up for the Palestinian people being genocide. He is totally bought by corporate money and the ADF. He has no interest in representing the US people much less the trans people under attack daily.

      And why is the weak support they are willing to give the LGBTQ+ community always now delivered with low energy wavering conditioned response instead of the former full throated support that helped win us the right to serve in the military openly and to have the right to marry who we loved just as straight people could. The Democratic establishment got used to getting the votes and large money from the LGBTQ+ community so much they felt they were due it, owed it. They are finding this situation is changing. The LGBTQ+ community gave to the democrats when they supported the community, now the DNC is reporting they not only can’t get money they can’t get their phone calls responded to. Well you through one of us under the bus how soon until you do the rest of us?

      Ali this situation has become as serious to me as any mixed immigrant family. I live in Florida, a state that not only just opened a real concentration camp for anyone that they want to disappear that they want to be totally without government oversight, but a state that has repeatedly not only passed laws making my relationship with Ron illegal but who have elected state legislature members who praised the Pulse club mass massacre of LGBTQ+ people. My blog is small …. but when the “history doesn’t repeat itself but does rhyme” come for what I post or since I am in Florida they come for my marriage to my husband what then? Yes we have plans and have arranged with people in other states to take us in but we will lose everything we worked for. Think of it Ali if you had to just grab a few things and rush with your husband to a different state hoping not to be stopped. You lose your home, everything in it you couldn’t bring with you… That is what Ron and I are facing as reality if the tRump admin of Christian authoritarian fascist get their way. They have been pushing for it hard to overturn the right of same sex marriage and now they have the court to do it. As if the very fact that Ron and I could enjoy the same tax breaks and rights a married couple enjoy is somehow a threat to the country and their god. Yes Ali the politicians play games to gain themselves power and wealth, but real people get hurt. I may be one of them. Hugs

    1. Hi Bee. It has been a long time and I wish I did not ever have to hear it again. But sadly here we are. Everything done during in 1930 German is happening right now in the US. And it is being driven by the two same groups. Religious fascists and people who wanted government favor for profit. But sadly we have the most to lose now. Not an enemy attacking us from a foreign land but from inside our own country. I was in the military forced out of a great career due to a new Christian Commander, I was out before it was OK to be so that meant I took the beatings, the loss of jobs, the denied promotions, and the housing discrimination.

      That was in the 1980s -1990s. Once out at one job after passing every test still waiting for the supervisory board interview I was taken aside by the training officer. He told me Scottie you scored the highest anyone has ever scored on the supervisory test, you know this stuff down pat. But you need to drop wanting this. You can not be a supervisor because no real guy is going to take orders from a gay (fagot) guy. I refused, got denied the promotion. Instead they haired a guy out of our company who proceeded to in a few months get them repeatedly fined by the NRC. But being straight is the most important qualification right? Yes Bee sadly I think the 1930s are repeating themselves and no one is safe. Best wishes. Hugs

      1. I am so sorry you had to go through this. I know its repeati g itself and it terrifies me because I remember over the years when I mentioned the similarities people saying to me ” Oh, it can’t happen here!”. Well, if there is one thing I learned than its anything can happen anywhere and security is really an illusion. Looks like we have to go through the motions and hope humancruel learns at last 🤗
