‘I Call It Israeli Settler Terrorism’ — Father of Killed Palestinian-American Speaks Out

Sayfollah Musallet, a Palestinian-American born in Florida, was visiting family in the West Bank town of Al-Mazra’a ash-Sharqiya when Israeli settlers brutalized him, beating him unconscious and blocking an ambulance from reaching him, according to the victim’s family. The young Palestinian-American was pronounced dead by the time he arrived at a hospital.

And although days have passed since Sayfollah was apparently killed by Israeli settlers, no one from the White House has contacted the family. No one from Congress. No one who represents Florida, where Musallet hails from.

Kamel Musallet, Sayfollah’s father, spoke with Zeteo’s political correspondent Prem Thakker about the lack of accountability from both US and Israeli officials over the ongoing settler violence in the West Bank. “An American has been killed by Israeli violence… Israeli settler terrorism,” Kamel told Prem.

Sayfollah is the seventh American killed by Israeli forces or settlers in the past 21 months. Most US politicians remain conspicuously silent about the widespread violence carried out by Israeli settlers.

  1. One must always remember, that Israel is held to a much higher standard than countries like Russia or Iran. And calling this terrible injustice “Settler terrorism” is really antisemitic. How on Earth do they get away with that? The mind boggles. 😤

        1. Hi Bee. You did not get me into trouble and I agree with you as I am also having a very hard time with this … as you called it “sorry business”. Please feel free to vent here this is a safe space for that. The only thing I have ever asked about people venting their feelings is to avoid attacking the innocent as they did not cause our problems. I keep that rule because a lot of hateful anti-trans people used to come to my blog and want to attack innocent trans kids, I refused to allow it. Hugs

          1. I fully understand. It is just so tricky to express criticism in the case of Gaza. We went for a while to the Gaza protests here in Carrick. But there were Slogans against Israel that to me did sound antisemitic. That was not their intention I am sure of that but still it felt wrong and I couldn’t do it.

            1. Hi Bee. I totally understand. I am not against individual Jewish people unless they personally do wrong to deserve it the same as I treat everyone. I am not against the state of Israel existing but I am against the current administration / government and not afraid to say so. I am not afraid of those that weaponize the term antisemite as a verb for anyone that disagrees with the genocide of the Palestinian people and the goal of taking over the Palestinian lands to make a religious Israeli theocracy. Hugs
