  1. I live in a “red” state…and can barely afford to eat, pay bills and get my monthly medications. I paid my home taxes this week and have about 3 bucks left for the rest of the month. yea, come here everyone. sheesh!

    1. Exactly. Although “up here” in KS, we hear OK is a utopia due to low taxes, I’ve always wondered; they have to get revenue somewhere! Anyway, yeah, magas want people to live in a red state because it’s more harmful to people’s general health. Trade services for “freedom,” but the taxes don’t decrease. They simply subsidize the “small businesses” that aren’t small by any stretch of anyone’s imagination.

Good to see you, suze! I hope things work out for you this month; of course it’s colder than usual on top of everything else.

      1. sales tax is an absolute killer here. and property taxes are equal to usuary… income tax is really low though so maybe all those who think it is cheaper here are those rich ones who pay nothing and still complain about the prices.
We have a hospital here in town with (are you ready for this) ZERO doctors. Not a single one is affiliated..so they have “contract docs” who may or may not show when needed. AND it is the only hospital that actually takes medicaid patients. the for-profit one refuses the homeless, under-insured and those relying on medicaid. Yea, red states rock………NOT.
I am still hanging in. sitting at a desk is significantly more difficult now, but I get online when I can.

Wow, I didn’t think it was legal for any hospital to refuse to treat. But, yeah, I guess let people who don’t like it get a lawyer and see what they can do about it, would be their attitude, so they do what they want to in a state with “freedom.” sigh
