Florida man exonerated for crime he didn’t commit

After more than three decades in prison, Thomas James was exonerated by prosecutors for a 1990 murder.

Thirty years in prison for a murder he did not commit.   You know that there is more to this story, he is a black man and the police and DA in racist Florida simply did not care, they pinned it on him and sent him away to rot.  What can the state now do to make it up to him?  Wrongly accused, all those years, the years of the prime of his life gone.  How does he earn any income?  But wait, his Social Security is going to be the minimum which is not enough to live on as he was behind bars all those years.   So he will continue to be screwed by the same state that imprisoned him for a crime he never committed.    But I guess at least now he can vote?   Maybe?  In Florida, a black man from prison?   Good luck.

This is a hard story to listen to.  In fact both of them are.  Child rape hits me hard, but I guess it does most decent people.   The second story is about a civilian man who was tortured for no reason except it seems that is the standard why the Russians soldiers are dealing with men.   I have posted it before.  They take the men’s fingers and cut them to the bone in slashes so that they will not only be painful but fester and decay.  This man lost most of his.   I have posted videos of others with their fingers stitched up trying to save them.  The US could stop this.   NATO could stop this.  But we are allowing it.  For how much longer?

On thing about this.   The Russians seem to like causing pain and being cruel.  These acts are deliberate.  No professional army acts this way.   We must act to stop this.   How many generations will ask why we did not stop it when we could have?  Were they not worthy enough for us to save?

Trump Forced Governors To BEG For Natural Disaster Aid

Former President Donald Trump reportedly told state governors to “ask [him] nicely” for federal assistance and relief for natural disasters. Connecticut’s Democratic Governor Ned Lamont recounted his experience when asking Trump for help in restoring electricity to residents after a massive storm in 2020 while Trump provided FEMA aid to Florida and Texas without question. “Former President Donald Trump made governors flatter him personally for federal aid after natural disasters, a new book says. The revelations are made in an upcoming book, “This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future,” by New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alex Burns, according to The Independent. In the book, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, a Republican, said Trump told governors who wanted aid: “You have to call and ask me nicely.” Hogan claimed that Trump had a policy in which only Texas and Florida, two states with governors Trump considered close allies, would be given federal aid when needed without question. Governor Ned Lamont of Connecticut, a Democrat, recounted a similar experience, The Independent reported. Lamont said he asked the White House for assistance in obtaining federal disaster aid after a storm in August 2020 left parts of Connecticut without electrical power.”

Florida Man Flips The Script On Republican Culture War

Florida activist Chaz Stevens is taking the culture war to Florida Republicans by starting a petition to ban the Bible in public schools as well as any other book that references the Bible. The request comes as the state lets parents object to educational material, specifically material that contains sexual subjects.

“A Florida activist known for his tongue-in-cheek petitions to local government agencies has asked school districts in Florida to ban the Bible. In petitions sent to public school superintendents across the state, Chaz Stevens asked the districts to “immediately remove the Bible from the classroom, library, and any instructional material,” Stevens wrote in the documents, which were shared with NPR. “Additionally, I also seek the banishment of any book that references the Bible.” His petitions cited a bill signed into law last month by Gov. Ron DeSantis, which lets parents object to educational materials. That bill came about after some parents complained about sexually explicit books being taught in Florida schools. Many of those books, such as Gender Queer: A Memoir, deal with LGBTQ themes and coming out stories. DeSantis celebrated the removal of Gender Queer at a news conference after the signing of the law. It’s “a cartoon-style book with graphic images of children performing sexual acts,” he said last month. “That is wrong.””

Marjorie Greene’s DELUSIONAL Rant On The Catholic Church

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Greene blasted the Catholic Church in a recent interview, saying that Satan is controlling the church since they helped migrants and refugees find housing in the country. Greene accused the U.S. Catholic Church of illegally using taxpayer and federal funds to “assist in illegal immigration”.

“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) tore into the Catholic Church in a recent interview with right-wing activist Michael Voris of Church Militant. In the wild interview, flagged online by Right Wing Watch, Greene charges “Satan’s controlling the church.” In a clip from the interview, Voris charges that U.S. Bishops “taken enormous sums of money from the federal government, federal taxpayers to assist in illegal immigration, some refugee resettlement also” to “essentially skirt around U.S. immigration laws.” “I thought we had a separation of church and state,” Greene said in response. “What it is, is Satan’s controlling the church,” Greene continued. Greene’s campaign website doesn’t list specifically what denomination of Christian is, but notes her “strong Christian faith.””

Fox Host Wants To BAN Public Schools

Fox News host Kennedy revealed the Republican Party’s master plan live in an appearance on the network, calling for an end to public schooling supplemented by the federal government. Republicans want nothing more than to privatize education and push marginalized groups, especially the poor and working classes, to the edges of society while rewriting curriculums to their liking. “Fox News host Kennedy just casually suggests that public schools should be eliminated. “A great time in our country’s history where we rethink whether or not we have public schools. Maybe we should not have the government involved in education at all.””

Corrupt Sheriff Threatens Journalist For Doing Her Job

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has launched an investigation into Los Angeles Times reporter Alene Tchekmedyian for publishing an article about Villanueva allegedly covering up a case of inmate abuse. In the article, Tchekmedyian implicated Villanueva as leading the cover-up effort and published security footage of the incident obtained from a whistleblower. “The Los Angeles County sheriff said on Tuesday that he was investigating a reporter at The Los Angeles Times who had reported allegations that he was involved in covering up a case of inmate abuse, an announcement that drew accusations that he was violating the reporter’s First Amendment rights. The reporter, Alene Tchekmedyian, published an article on Monday detailing a legal claim filed by an officer who accused Sheriff Alex Villanueva of blocking an investigation into the alleged abuse and retaliating against whistle-blowers. Ms. Tchekmedyian also published security video footage of a police deputy handcuffing the inmate, who had punched him in the face. Once the inmate was on the floor, the officer kept his knee on the inmate’s head for three minutes.”

Right Wing Leads Charge In Dismantling Public Education

Red States like Tennessee are moving more and more money out of public education funding, opting to give the funding to private charter schools through vouchers and other means of fund diversion. The privatization of education has long been underway as the right-wing has been chipping away at teacher unions, panicking over CRT, and more recently, the accusations that LGBT teachers are ‘grooming’ children to be gay in public schools.
