The US waited to enter world war 2 until it affected us personally. Same with the world war 1. World war 3 is here now. How will history see the US, as a defender of the attacked people, or weak and fearful of the attackers. Look we are involved. We are sending arms, we are sending intel, we are giving advice, we are giving money, the only damn thing we are not giving is our own ability to save lives. I was a US military man, I served in two branches of the US military. There are things we believe in and the stopping the slaughter of the defenseless is one of those things. Look back at history and see when the US intervened in a conflict. Will we wait until all the women and children are killed and driven out? What is our goal? If we want to save lives how do you say we need to wait because the future life saved is more worthy than the lives of the dead children happening now. It is easy to give support from a world away when our kids are not dying, when our elderly are not going hungry starving to death. The US is a world leader willing to stand up, or we are not and need to stand down. Now we find out where the real spine of the US is.

As GOP Blocks Funds, Federal Agency Ends Covid Coverage for Uninsured
“The rationing of Covid-care by ability to pay begins,” warned one physician.A federal health agency tasked with covering Covid-19 testing and treatment for uninsured Americans officially stopped accepting claims on Wednesday because it is out of funding, a shortfall caused by congressional lawmakers’ failure to approve new coronavirus aid.
Martin Kramer, a spokesperson for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), said in a statement Tuesday that “the lack of funding for Covid-19 needs is having real consequences.”
“Congress is poised to repeat what will almost certainly be a deadly mistake: waiting until it’s too late before investing in prevention.”
“We have begun an orderly shutdown of the program,” Kramer said, referring to the HRSA Covid-19 Uninsured Program, which has been reimbursing providers for coronavirus care for the uninsured since the early stages of the pandemic.
Nearly 10% of U.S. residents—around 31 million people—don’t have any form of health insurance, according to federal estimates.
The HRSA has also warned in recent days that without a quick infusion of federal funds, it will have to stop accepting coronavirus vaccine reimbursement claims on April 5.
“Federal coverage for Covid-19 treatment and testing for the uninsured ends today. Coverage for vaccine administration for the uninsured ends in about two weeks,” Adam Gaffney, a critical care doctor at the Cambridge Health Alliance, lamented on Twitter. “The rationing of Covid-care by ability to pay begins.”
The Biden White House has asked for more than $20 billion dollars to purchase fresh supplies of masks, therapeutics, tests, and vaccines and to keep key pandemic response programs running, but Republican lawmakers have questioned the need for additional Covid-19 money and insisted that any funding be repurposed from existing state programs—a non-starter for Democratic lawmakers who warn their states would be hurt by such a scheme.
Disagreements over funding sources ultimately led the Democratic leadership to pull around $16 billion in coronavirus aid from a recent omnibus spending package that contained $782 billion for the U.S. military—$29 billion more than President Joe Biden originally requested.
White House Chief of Staff Ronald Klain insisted Tuesday that the Biden administration is not “turning the page” on the coronavirus pandemic, which is still killing more than 1,000 people per day in the U.S. on average.
“We are keeping businesses and schools open—and reducing hospital and ICU cases—by making vaccines, boosters, treatments, and tests widely available,” Klain said. “And we will continue to do so as long as Congress funds this work.”
But with dozens of Republicans refusing to support new relief funding, there does not appear to be a path forward for a standalone coronavirus measure in the evenly divided Senate.
“We don’t need Covid funding,” Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Iowa.) told The Atlantic, expressing a view common among GOP lawmakers. “Most people would say we’re done. We have more issues with inflation than Covid right now.”
Vox‘s Dylan Matthews wrote Tuesday that if the congressional stalemate over Covid-19 funding persists, “the federal effort to halt the virus could effectively be over, even though the pandemic itself clearly isn’t.”
“That would be a disaster,” Matthews added.
According to a February Covid-19 funding table obtained by Politico, more than $45 billion of the $47.8 billion that Congress approved for testing and mitigation in the American Rescue Plan is currently “obligated or being executed,” $2.6 billion is already allocated, and “none remains available for new initiatives.”
For months, public health experts have been urging the Biden administration and Congress to ensure the U.S. is prepared for another wave of coronavirus infections, particularly after the White House rejected such warnings ahead of the holiday Omicron surge.
Fueled by the rapid spread of BA.2—a highly transmissible subvariant of Omicron—Covid-19 cases are currently rising in parts of Europe and Asia.
“We are on the brink of another potential wave,” epidemiologist Dr. Eric Feigl-Ding wrote Tuesday.
If Congress doesn’t approve funding for treatments, testing, vaccines, and other pandemic response measures, he added, “we are in trouble.”
Dr. Leana Wen, a professor at George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health, similarly argued in a Washington Post column earlier this week that “two years into the pandemic, Congress is poised to repeat what will almost certainly be a deadly mistake: waiting until it’s too late before investing in prevention.”
“We’ve already seen what happens when we don’t prioritize preparedness and prevention,” Wen wrote. “Nearly 1 million Americans have already died from Covid-19. How many more must die before Congress heeds the lessons learned?”

The same congress where 8 members voted against aid to Ukraine? The same congress where half the Republicans supported Putin? The right wing hates to admit that President Biden has lead the world in response to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. They hate that Biden gets credit when their cult leader couldn’t stand up to Putin even to support the US own intel agencies.

Gods the right wing cartoonist are desperate. Russia is not a communist country. They are hoping none of their viewers are smart enough to know it is not 1980 anymore. Bernie never touted communism for the US. Bernie wants the government to work for the public and not just for the wealthy. That is not communism. It is about the taxpayers getting a return on their tax money.
Christians like Payne are adamant in forcing everyone to think and enjoy hatreds like them, especially when it comes to racism, bigotry, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia. Conserves are “woke” against “woke”. They don’t want white heterosexual folks to be offended by all those others around them. Some Disney employees participated in a walkout Tuesday to protest Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill The bill, which has not yet been signed into law, would limit discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity in schools PREVIOUS: Disney opposes Florida’s so-called ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, CEO to meet with Gov. DeathSantis. Payne hates gay people apparently.
Isn’t that virtue signaling? I though right wingers considered virtue signaling to be bad. The right didn’t care about Uyghurs during Trump’s term. Now they are pretending to care about an ethnic group they didn’t care about before because they need a reason to paint President Biden as a bad guy over something. So, what do you armchair quarterbacks expect President Biden to do? Trump tried imposing tariffs on China because of their unfair business practices. It didn’t work very well, and Trump had to ask Congress to give farmers money to help them out. America is busy dealing with Putin. A dictator that some right wingers to praise. Trump called him a genius for his invasion of Ukraine. Seems like a bad idea to pick a fight with two countries with nuclear weapons. As for Canada “mistreating” Christians, give me a break.
Anti-vaxxers remind me of the person that got mauled by the tiger at the zoo because they decided to go into the tiger pit. They were warned many times of the danger but decided to overcome the obstacles put in place designed to prevent such a tragedy from happening. Such safeguards are put in place in order to prevent people from dying from COVID. If you decide to have a hissy fit and not do what is expected to stop COVID, then don’t expect me to feel sorry for you if you die. I will only feel sorry for the people that died from COVID because they had a compromised immune system. Taking the analogy farther, they remind me of the person who decided to release the tiger so it could wander the city freely, mauling whomever it wants.
The cartoon over looks the new varient to push one of their favorite villains Dr Fauci and the fear that he will force you to do things you do not want to do. People Dr. Fauci is only an advisor. But it is easier to make him the villain and pretending tRump was not in charge of the things people hate.

tRump is not responsible for the vaccine development nor for their distribution. While tRump was throwing the US treasury to any organization that would promise him anything to save his bacon, the leading vaccine maker did not take the money from the US. All the vaccine manufactures had started working on vaccines before tRump started offering money. tRump offered money to people who claimed their businesses to develop vaccines were in their living rooms. The tRump people had no plan or method to get the shots into peoples arms. For that the credit goes to the Biden administration. But the real reason to not give credit to tRump / Republicans is their catering and fostering an anti-vaccine insanity that is not only prolonging the covid issue but has led to unnecessary death and economic problems. But the right doesn’t care about facts, they want to worship their cult leader tRump and pretend science is not real.

Your surplus labor value is stolen. The system gives the thieves multiples of that stolen wealth via stock evaluations.

Ted Cruz is sad becuase tries to sound dumb to connect with his base. His Ivy League debate skills are used to protect the weak-minded and petty in his party.

These vile assholes were always there in the Republican Party.
Trump gave them oxygen.

Not only is there no test, it’s expressly forbidden.
If The US Senate followed Establishment Clause, the clause in the First Amendment of the US Constitution that prohibits the establishment of religion by Congress, we would have almost no Republican Senators left.

I do not think it is even that high. People in the US just don’t vote as they are disconnected from the government. They have been shown and told that government doesn’t work for them, the government only responds to the wishes of the wealthy. The government has been bought by the large donors. Often when people vote for something if Republicans are in charge the Republicans simply either ignore it or change what the voters wanted to suit right wing needs.

‘Desperate for the attention of other stupid people’ is the FOX model: the incurious moral blank.

This is an attempt to both smear Germany with the past but to claim they are not helping now. In fact Germany is paying a steep price for enforcing the sanctions.

I post this drivel to ask even if all the salacious drug and sex stuff about Hunter was correct what would it matter? He is not an official advisor to his father such as the tRump children were. Hunter has no part of the government, draws no paycheck from the government, and is a private citizen. But things like this are an attempt to get their base to associate President Biden with sex and drugs through his son. They just can not find anything to attack Joe Biden with that sticks.

Again Rivers is far far hard right. He is in the cult of tRump. Why would we miss him due to high gas prices due to price gouging? So he can gouge more? His administration had high gas prices also before Covid by the right wing has forgotten that. Short memories they have.

Again Rivers is a hard far right wing nut who is desperate to blame Biden for everything he can think of. But so far their attacks have missed because they are so vague and the things they mention like the one above are not the fault of Biden or his administration. It is the result of the Republican dream of serving their big money donors by keeping the pubic desperate and in a hunger games society of being willing to do anything a corporation demands of them with no complaint. The Republican desire to have government do nothing for the people and everything for the wealthy has killed the dreams of the people.

See above. As for electric vehicles all the major auto manufacturers see it as the future. When Ford started making electric trucks that was the sign the tipping point had been reached. If you want to get away from the high price of gas, stop needing gas.

Why are far right wing nut cartoonist so desperate to keep money pouring into the pockets of wealthy oil companies? The fact is that both things will causes death and destruction. Both are preventable. Both are caused by man.
The only people still using “woke” are those banning books, attacking LGBTQ kids, threatening women, and facilitating gun violence.

I am surprised because the right never mentions Matt Gaetz legal troubles and that he is accused of sex with a minor and taking her across state lines to do so.

And how do they think the Democrats got the Republicans to vote for the bill? Yes by giving them lots of pork.
