Another FL Villages Resident Gets Off For Voter Fraud

The villages are a republican maga stronghold.   They tend to have more retirement money than most maga thugs, but they are just as rabid, vocal, and feel even more entitled than the lower income magas.   DeathSantis holds rallies and events there and made sure that they had the first shot for the Covid vaccines he supported for wealthy republicans but publicly tried to deny for lower incomes.   Remember that a black woman in Texas voted with a provisional ballot because she was told she was able to vote but was unsure.   Her ballot was not counted.  She got sentenced to 5 years in prison even after the court was shown she received a letter telling her she had her right to vote returned.   But there is no such thing as white privilege is there.  Hugs

Click Orlando reports:

A third resident of The Villages has admitted to voting twice during the 2020 election, court records show.

Joan Halstead, 73, entered a pretrial intervention program Wednesday that will allow her to avoid potential prison time if she successfully completes court-ordered requirements such as performing community service and attending a civics class.

Halstead acknowledged her guilt as part of her agreement with prosecutors. Two other residents of The Villages accused of voting twice, Charles Barnes and Jay Ketcik, signed similar pretrial intervention contracts earlier this year.

UK’s ‘large, visible and effective’ transphobia mapped out in eye-opening new report

There is a reason that anti-trans people like Tildeb ignore the accepted US mainstream medical best practices that support supportive trans care and instead use misinformation from the UK is the UK has a lot of highly influential vocal maga type trans haters that have managed to force the government to change polices and have attacked trans health issues in court.  They use misinformation, right wing media pushed lies, debunked science, and incorrect / incomplete fake studies.   This article lays out the full information.  I found this paragraph especally informatiove as I have heard these very things put in the comments of my posts.     Hugs

The report found many actors “share a zerosum conception of rights” even though many seem to have “very different” or “even radically opposing” political agendas in many respects. This conception included the predominant belief “for one community’s rights to be respected and protected, another community must be excluded from rights protections”.

Right-wing figures are among the “most influential” groups pushing anti-trans agendas in the UK media, according to an eye-opening report.

The report, published by Global Action for Trans Equality (GATE), mapped how the anti-trans movement is mobilising the UK.

GATE said the report, part of the advocacy organisation’s broader mapping project, focused on the UK as one of the “global hotspots” where anti-trans movements have “enjoyed increased efficacy in the past few years”.

The project mapped 368 anti-trans and linked actors in the UK and internationally, including figures in the right-leaning media, UK religious right, US religious and neo-conservative right, trans-exclusionary feminists/LGB actors, and the alt/far-right.

These people were linked to campaigning groups, individuals, publishers, media organisations, commentators, authors, publications, political parties and groups, social media platforms and more.

The report analysed the 1,036 relationships between these figures and how they interacted with each other. Their relationships could be through activities such as employment, campaigning, interviews and panels, or co-authorship and collaborating in legal funds.

The report found anti-trans movements in the UK have become “significantly larger, more visible and more effective” since 2015/2016 to the present day. GATE said the organisation saw a “dramatic increase in anti-trans content and activity in UK media and politics” starting in 2015.

Two people are pictured in a protest outside the BBC in which people denounced anti-treans reporting by the media organisation.
A report by Global Action for Trans Equality highlighted how the UK is one of the “global hotspots” where anti-trans sentiment has grown in recent years. (Belinda Jiao/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty)

It found there is an “important driving role played by right-wing groups” and that the actors in these groups “interlink with much of the UK media, commentariat, wider political class and traditional conservative groups”. They were also linked with “parts of the left-leaning media and political class”.

GATE saw there had been a “marked rise in anti-gender mobilisations” that coincided with efforts by trans and broader LGBTQ+ campaigners pushing for legal and policy reform. Notably, this included efforts to “prioritise advocacy around legal gender recognition” from 2015.

At the same time, GATE saw there was “rising influence and activities” within the right/media on trans rights and related issues in the UK.

People in these groups constituted a “large coalition of the right/media” that is the “most influential” block in the mapping of how the anti-trans movement has mobilised across the UK.

“This group is closely enmeshed with (and also constituted by) key conservative and centrist media, and a smaller range of left-wing media,” the report said. “[This group] is the most populous group on the map and has the highest density of social relations.”

The report continued: “They are by far the most influential group, even without factoring in their tremendous power to set the media agenda, reach audiences, and influence policy and legal change. Indeed, many of these actors actually are media, government, and wider policy-makers (eg key UK think tanks, NGOs, and foundations linked to policymaking).

“The vast majority of these actors were not producing content about trans issues prior to 2015.”

The report found many actors “share a zerosum conception of rights” even though many seem to have “very different” or “even radically opposing” political agendas in many respects. This conception included the predominant belief “for one community’s rights to be respected and protected, another community must be excluded from rights protections”.

The report found anti-trans mobilisations directly target the trans community and others, sending them into “often bruising battles”. (Getty/Hollie Adams)

GATE found all groups in the mapping were “generally, anti-intersectional” and “critical of younger social movements”. The report concluded many actors believe they are “true victims” of an “excessively liberal new status quo”.

“In this and other cases, we can also see that anti-gender mobilisations directly attack target communities – sending marginalised communities into localised, often bruising battles, and away from a focus on broader drivers and conditions for change,” the research found.

It added: “Indeed, oftentimes, anti-gender frames invoke a fearful, austere, and limiting world in which, apparently, rights are in short supply, dangerous characters and coercive industries lurk in the shadows, and ‘our’ most basic freedoms are under attack on all sides.”

GATE concluded few people benefit from “this way of understanding politics, society, culture and economics”. As such, the organisation said it “amounts to a race to the bottom”, which “places a wide range of rights at risk”.

The mapping highlighted an incentive for trans and allied groups to look beyond the current “limiting line of sight” and the “negative focus and effects of backlash” to potential new alliances.

The report also said a need to develop campaigning approaches which can “de-centre, disrupt” and speak past the “core messages of anti-gender actors” – which rely “strongly on fear based messaging and anger-based mobilisation”.

“This could include alternative agenda (and role) setting and framing approaches, considering a focus on hope-based communications, material needs of trans communities, and the importance of collaboration and solidarity,” GATE said.

Trans and allied groups should address the fearmongering and disinformation through “supporting fact-checking resources, effective rebuttal and improved standards” among reporters.

Florida school district now requires teachers to out LGBTQ students because of “Don’t Say Gay”

https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2022/08/florida-school-district-now-requires-teachers-lgbtq-students-dont-say-gay/

I keep posting on this subject of school officials outing kids for a reason.   First this is not being pushed by teachers but instead by administrators, district level people, and school boards.   All people that do not have daily contact with the students / kids and don’t know which ones have rough home lives or parents who would react badly to the news.   The ones pushing this are really acting on misinformation and bigotry.   This is going to get kids hurt and harmed.   Some parents will throw the young kids out of the house,  force some of them to live like hermits with no friends or social support, force some into conversion therapy which is simply torture to force a person to act differently because sexual orientation and gender identity cannot be changed even by torture.  Or get the kids killed either by making them a target or by suicide.   Look just a few years ago there was a college student who killed himself because his roommate recorded him having sex with another man and the gay student was terrified his parents and others would find out he was gay.   Simple fact is if a kid who lives with these parents / people don’t think it is safe for them to come out to them, they are in the best position to know.   It is a matter of personal rights that people should only come out to live openly as they feel comfortable doing.   This mandatory reporting of an out kids to parents also destroys the students trust of their teachers and also denies the student resources they need to understand themselves and their world.   Remember these laws that are implemented by maga republican governors also remove any books with information or characters that are LGBTQ+.  It is plunging the LGBTQ+ back into the black hole void of the 1950s.     Hugs

The Sarasota County School district adopted a new policy in the wake of the Don’t Say Gay law that requires teachers to out students to their parents if they identify as LGBTQ and to seek parental permission to refer to transgender students with the correct name or pronouns.

The new policy says: “If a student tells us that (they) are gay/gender questioning/trans, etc parent must be notified.”

A screenshot of a flow chart that illustrates the process a student must follow to be referred to with the correct name and pronouns was leaked to WUSF. It shows that a teacher must contact administration if a student asks the teacher to refer to them with a certain name or pronouns.

The administration will then contact the student’s parents to get consent for referring to the student correctly. If the parents don’t give consent, staff must deadname and misgender the student. If they do give consent, they have to meet with school administration to develop and sign a “gender support plan.”

School board member Bridget Ziegler, who supports the policy change, compared outing LGBTQ kids to informing parents that their child has been suspended.

“What if a child was saying, ‘Hey, my parents are really strict, I’m afraid to tell them that I got a suspension.’ Why is it different? It’s not,” she told the Herald-Tribune.

One teacher said that the plan changes how she interacts with students.

“I have several kids that are transgender that have preferred names,” said Gail Foreman of Booker High School. “And you know, we had to tell them, if you want to use your preferred name, I have got to call guidance, and they’re going to get a hold of your parents, and then your parents are going to meet with guidance. So guys, don’t say anything to me, if you’re not out at home.”

Foreman said that she doesn’t want to have to out students at all to their parents because of potential child abuse and suicide.

“If they get ahold of the parent, the parent comes into school, we believe everything’s all hunky dory, and that kid goes home,” she explained. “And then we get a call that the kid’s committed suicide, that kid’s in the hospital because the parent beat the snot out of them. I don’t want to come home every night and know that I may have contributed to one of my students being harmed.”

Derek Reich teaches history at Sarasota High School and said that the district told him he’s not even allowed to call students by nicknames without parental permission.

“This last week, our school district told us that look, Jonathan, whose government name is Jonathan, if you want to call him anything else — like his friends call him John, his parents call him John. If you want to call him by his nickname, John, you have to get a permission slip for him to call any student that wants to be called by something other than their official name on their birth certificate,” he said.

“So there are so many minor things that teachers are concerned about. If I can’t call Jonathan ‘John,’ when everyone in his family does without getting a permission slip signed, that’s a really difficult place to be as a teacher,” Reich added.

The Don’t Say Gay law was passed earlier this year and bans discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity in younger grades and requires such discussions to be “developmentally appropriate” in older grades. The law has been criticized for being vague – instead of defining those terms, it simply allows parents to sue school districts if they feel that the law has been violated.

The law also prohibits schools from withholding certain information from parents.

Pennsylvania’s Governor Signed an Executive Order to Protect LGBTQ+ Youth from Conversion Therapy

It is now one of 26 states that either fully or partially ban the practice.

Pennsylvania governor Tom Wolf has signed an executive order on Tuesday directing state agencies to ensure that no taxpayer money goes toward the harmful practice known as conversion therapy. The order represents a significant step toward protecting LGBTQ+ youth from the practice.

“Conversion therapy is a traumatic practice based on junk science that actively harms the people it supposedly seeks to treat,” Wolf said in a statement. “This discriminatory practice is widely rejected by medical and scientific professionals and has been proven to lead to worse mental health outcomes for LGBTQIA+ youth subjected to it. This is about keeping our children safe from bullying and extreme practices that harm them.”

Wolf’s orders do not constitute a full ban on conversion therapy, but rather ensures the state does not support the practice. Local politics blog Billy Penn pointed out that many towns and counties do, however, ban conversion therapy at the local level, meaning that whether or not the practice is legal depends on where in Pennsylvania you are located.

The order directs all state agencies to protect state residents from conversion therapy, also misleadingly called “reparative therapy,” and to make sure no state funds are used to provide or reimburse agencies for conversion therapy. Wolf also directed the state government to investigate any reports of conversion therapy being paid for by state dollars and encourages the Department of State to tell people how to report licensed professionals that cause harm to LGBTQ+ people through conversion therapy.

The move makes Pennsylvania the 26th state to either fully or partially ban conversion therapy, according to the Movement Advancement Project. Twenty states and Washington, D.C. completely ban the harmful practice. Other countries have weighed whether to ban reparative therapy, with Canada banning it nationwide in December and the U.K. failing to ban it in April. Congress introduced a bill to ban conversion therapy in 2021, but the bill went nowhere. Meanwhile, this has been a banner year for anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in state legislatures across the country, including Florida’s notorious “Don’t Say Gay” law, as well as bills banning gender-affirming therapy in Texas and Alabama.

According to a study earlier this year from LGBTQ+ suicide prevention organization The Trevor Project, 13% of LGBTQ+ youth report being subjected to conversion therapy, with 83% of those who underwent the harmful process being under the age of 18.

“Conversion therapy is causing horrific consequences for the mental health and well-being of a generation of young LGBTQIA+ individuals,” Wolf said. “But there is something very simple that we can all do to help. We can stand up and tell LGBTQIA+ youth that we hear them and we accept them exactly as they are.”

Mathew Shurka, a conversion therapy survivor and co-founder of Born Perfect, an organization aimed at ending the practice nationwide, called Wolf’s action a “critical step” in protecting LGBTQ+ Pennsylvanians. “LGBTQ kids and their families are targeted by so-called therapists causing lifelong harm,” Shurka said in a statement to NBC News. “This executive order demonstrates that our political offices have the power to protect our youth and it is their responsibility to do so.”

Pharmacists who refused Plan B wins case in another blow to women’s rights

Another day, another example of the radical Christian take over of every aspect of public life. A Minnesota Pharmacist who was sued because they denied emergency due to religious reasons has won their case. If you don’t believe in your job, you shouldn’t have that job. Pharmacist gets to downplay danger and seriousness on Fox News, the network that pumps out misinformation like they are getting paid billions to do it… oh wait. We need a major reform on whether “my religion” is an excuse to deny people healthcare, service, or any other public good. Or we should have separate religious pharmacies for assholes who don’t want to do their job because of cherry-picked bigotry and misogyny from their favorite fairy-tale fan fiction.

Even Dictionaries Aren’t Safe From New Florida Law

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports:

Hundreds of dictionaries earmarked for donation from a Venice Rotary Club sit collecting dust, precluded from being given to Sarasota County students. Even dictionaries aren’t safe from the Sarasota Schools book freeze.

Ahead of the 2022-23 school year, the Sarasota County School District stopped all donations and purchases of books for school libraries while it waits for additional guidance from the Florida Department of Education about how to navigate the effects of new education laws.

The freeze comes as HB 1467 took effect July 1, requiring all reading material in schools to be selected by an employee with a valid education media specialist certificate. The district was still looking to hire three media specialists to vet books as of Friday.

DeSantis would, if he could, make all of his Florida “woke” nightmare national. If he gets into the White House, rest assured his Secretary of Education will institute “Don’t Say Gay” nationwide.

DeSantis is every bit as evil and malevolent as Trump — but with one big difference:

Marjorie Taylor Greene Seeks to Criminalize Gender-Affirming Care for Kids

https://www.newsweek.com/marjorie-taylor-greene-seeks-criminalize-gender-affirming-care-kids-1735044

Please notice these 3 paragraphs which say;

While Greene and other like-minded conservatives argue that gender-affirming care is unnecessary and “disgusting,” the mainstream medical establishment largely considers it to be the only effective way of treating transgender people, sometimes including children, and has opposed legislative efforts to block treatment.

“The AMA opposes the dangerous intrusion of government into the practice of medicine and the criminalization of health care decision-making,” Dr. Michael Suk, an AMA board member, said last year in a statement opposing anti-transgender laws. “Gender-affirming care is medically-necessary, evidence-based care that improves the physical and mental health of transgender and gender-diverse people.”

Dr. Moira Szilagyi, the president of the AAP, the country’s largest association of pediatricians, wrote last week in a blog post that there was a “strong consensus among the most prominent medical organizations worldwide that evidence-based, gender-affirming care for transgender children and adolescents is medically necessary and appropriate.”

Also please note that the anti-trans bigots trying to legislate fringe medical treatment against the best practice treatments are the same people who pushed a parasite paste Ivermectin to treat Covid which is a virus.   These same people also rejected the best practices for Covid like taking the vaccine which they have lied about constantly, were against mask wearing, and keeping your distance during a pandemic.   They were loud and proud and pushed their myths and lies about that on everyone also.  They are turning people against vaccines like the money pox and polio vaccines.  These maga right wing thugs do not believe in letting others have freedom and doing what is best for them, they want complete control over your body, your sex life, your personal expressions, how you dress, and what medicine you take.   Small government party?   If these people are making sense to you, you may want to check your sources and rethink your ideas.    Hugs

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia plans to introduce legislation to federally ban gender-affirming care for transgender children.

Greene announced the bill during a Thursday appearance on Fox News‘ Tucker Carlson Tonight. The Georgia Republican argued that gender-affirming care—which is backed by most in the medical establishment, including by major mainstream organizations like the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)—is “disgusting and appalling” and “child abuse” when minors are involved.

“I find this absolutely appalling, Tucker,” Greene said. “When it comes to gender-affirming care, which is really child abuse, this is actually an assault and it’s child abuse. And this practice should never happen, it’s so disgusting and appalling… gender-affirming care is… genital mutilation.”

“This needs to be illegal and I’m introducing a bill called Protect Children’s Innocence Act,” she added. “It would create a law that would cause it to be a class C felony for any person involved in so-called gender-affirming care… anything involving any youth under the age of 18.”

Carlson enthusiastically agreed with Greene’s proposal, arguing that doctors who provide the care should “go to prison” and that he expects every Republican to vote for the bill.

“I should have every single Republican co-sponsor [the bill],” said Greene. “But unfortunately I don’t yet, I only have five co-sponsors. I’m talking to all of my colleagues and urging them, because Tucker let me tell you something, this is a referendum on the Republican Party.”

“Because this practice has to end,” she continued. “It’s the kind of thing nightmares are made of. And these are monsters under kids that that are doing these horrific things to them.”

Carlson thanked Greene, while agreeing that gender-affirming care for children was “mutilation.” He urged the congresswoman to send his show “a list of every Republican [that] is too cowardly” to support the bill.

Greene’s bill would also block federal funding for any gender-affirming care, ban colleges from teaching gender-affirming treatments and prevent any foreign nationals who provide the care from entering the country.

Reaction to the proposal was mixed online, with some accusing Greene of promoting child abuse by attempting to make gender-affirming treatment for transgender minors illegal.

“Your legislation will abuse transgender children,” writer David Weissman tweeted. “Again the Republican Party of today is not about limited government.”

“And who will protect children from your virulent ignorance and hate?” tweeted actor and director Charlie Adler.

“This is terrifying,” transgender activist Erin Reed tweeted. “Not only does Marjorie Taylor Green’s bill medically detransition all trans teens and ban providers from the US… It prevents schools from ‘teaching gender affirming care.’ Presumably she’s referring to therapists and medical schools. This is genocide.”

Others praised Greene for her making the proposal and appearing with Carlson on Thursday.

“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (@RepMTG) nailed it tonight on Tucker,” tweeted Ryan Fourier, the founder of the group Students for Trump. “The sexual mutilation of children in this country is a rising problem and should concern every parent. God Bless you, Congresswoman for being a leader in this fight!”

“Just saw it~Great appearance, Congressman!” tweeted conservative talk show host Dave Weinbaum, praising Greene’s Fox News appearance while misgendering her.

Greene’s announcement came amid a national push from conservatives targeting transgender children and health care providers who treat them, with Republican-backed bills to block treatment for minors having already been introduced in multiple states.

Some Republican efforts have also included moves to limit or delay gender-affirming treatment for all adults, or to ban any care for young adults by changing the definition of “adult” to not include transgender people until they are over 25 years old.

Conservative anger over gender-affirming medical care—which has existed in some form for at least 100 years—may also be tied to recent harassment and death threats sent to health care providers.

Staff at Boston Children’s Hospital received harassment and threats this week after the right-wing social media account Libs of TikTok and others spread misinformation about its gender health program online.

“There is a dangerous movement taking place, led by extremists, targeting youth who are receiving gender-affirming care, and vilifying the pediatricians providing their care,” Szilagyi wrote. “The result has been rampant disinformation about what this care is and real threats of violence against some of our members.”

“The people who suffer the most from this discrimination are of course the children and teens just trying to live their lives as their true selves,” she added. “Pediatricians will not stay silent as these lies are waged against our patients and our peers.”

The LGBT advocacy organization GLAAD also weighed in on Greene’s proposal in a statement obtained by Newsweek.

“Marjorie Taylor Greene has zero interest in facts, she is only interested in harming transgender youth and spreading misinformation about the care that they receive, including lying about surgeries that are not performed on minors.,” said GLAAD. “Every medical association supports gender-affirming care as safe and necessary, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, which reaffirmed their commitment to this life-saving healthcare just last week.

“Her latest vile attack should be met with loud condemnation from members of Congress, who should be protecting transgender people from baseless fearmongering and rapidly increasing anti-trans rhetoric, along with the discrimination and violence they face every day,” the group added.

Newsweek reached out to the World Professional Association for Transgender Health for comment.

As if we needed more proof that MTG is a gibbering, moronic idiot. Gender affirming care for minors doesn’t involve surgery until the person in question is of legal age to undergo such surgery in they country they reside in. Mostly it involves using a chosen name and pronouns, allowing the minor to decide what clothes to wear, and their hairstyle. In order etc allow the minor more time to decide on their path, they may be put on puberty blockers, which are fully reversible. All of this information is easily accessible online, but MTG is too stupid and arrogant to look up the facts.

It’s not about facts, it’s about creating hate, and channeling that hate into votes. We’re an easy target.

Yep. It’s all about the hate, and finding someone weaker to pick on.

Circumcising baby males is genital mutilation. They scream bloody murder when they do it to muslim women but not a peep when christians do it to their newborns. Fuck this hag. May she and tucker experience the rest of their lives in nothing but pain and agony of the worst sort ever imagined and then die and burn in their creators hell

I have a friend from Romania whose parents took him for a circumcision … when was 12.

No anesthesia was provided …

:-/

In the civilized world, we call that “torture.”

Ref- chabad.org –
When Abraham was 99 years old, G‑d appeared to him and instructed him to circumcise himself and all the male members of his household,

*God* being an invisible being …………………

Circumcision – removing the penis hood, exposing the nerve endings, making love making least effective .

They think this crap will stop Transgendered or Gay people from existing. Fucking idiots!

In the 80s Minneapolis officials thought bulldozing all the gay bars would make the gays go away.

This bill she is pushing would make it a FELONY to offer, conduct or facilitate any medical care for gender affirming treatments period. She wants to make doctors and parents criminals for having compassion and trying to help young people who are struggling with gender identity issues.

The show is more important than whether or not the bill passes. The hypocritical whore will then send out fundraiser messages “Give me money. Behold, I fight for Christian family values.”

Getting the bill passed is probably not the actual goal. It’s the fund raising and media attention.

Riggghhht….the adulterous tantric sex whore fights for Christian values.

They thought a man, who broke every one of the 10 commandments fought for Christian values, so why not?

She looks like a man in a dress to me.

There, I’ve said it. I wish no offense to my trans brothers and sisters.

I think it’s mostly because she’s a longtime Crossfit practitioner. The women in Crossfit have a certain look that isn’t to everyone’s taste. But in MTG’s case, it’s compounded by her somewhat neanderthal-looking facial features and all the batshit that comes out of her mouth.

But it *is* ironic that she would be attacking transgender people when she herself looks so much like a man in women’s clothing.

Let’s talk about Kansas, recounts, perceptions, and realities….

Twitter Bans GOP Candidate After Post Calling for “All Floridians To Shoot FBI And All Federal Troops On Sight”

Florida Politics reports:

A Republican candidate for the House from St. Augustine is banned from Twitter after advocating violence against the federal government. Republican Luis Miguel, running against incumbent Rep. Bobby Payne of Palatka in the redrawn House District 20, was suspended from Twitter after a tweet advocating that Floridians should be able to shoot federal agents on sight.

“Under my plan, all Floridians will be able to shoot FBI, IRS, ATF, and all other federal troops on sight,” Miguel tweeted. “Let freedom ring.” Miguel told Florida Politics Friday the suspension, which is “permanent” per a message he got on his Twitter app, “doesn’t affect (him) at all.” He stands by the proposal, which he says is justified because the IRS has been “weaponized by dissident forces.”
