Anyone got something like this?

For years I had a simple form we printed off when we went for groceries, and I was able to alter it for our needs.  This is the last version I have of it.   I have looked repeatedly for a new version and I can not find it.   I just tried to send it to Randy, who has been helping me with trying to start some kind of menu / shopping method to save money.  I ended up have to save it to my hard drive another 12 or 20 times until I realized how to save it as a format I can show it to others.   Yes my mind is not as clear as it used to be.  Here is the form I have after I edited it for years for Ron and me.   Does anyone know of a similar form that will help us older folk go grocery shopping.  Damn it, I can not find a way to put it into the post.   Thank you all so much.   I will try several screen clips.    Sorry.  Hugs

  1. I just make a list! As we use up a certain item … or think about something we want or need, it’s added to the list. Your form seems a bit unwieldly to me.

    1. Hello Nan. Good morning. We have a couple large dry-erase boards on the fridge. When we use something up or need more of something, we write it on the board. Then Ron copies it on to a piece of paper. Which he sometimes remembers to take with him. I take a picture of the board with my phone when I go. Here is why the form above it good for Ron. If I am just going in for one or two specific items I just go to those items, but if I am going to get a lot of stuff I go isle by isle and as I see what we need, I mark it. Ron jumps from this isle to one four lanes down, to then backtrack, he will skip isles he thinks don’t have what he wants only to then either have to go back to find it in an isle he skipped or get home and realize he forgot to get something. So a form like that one that groups stuff together is wonderful. He can get all the same type items in the same areas of the store. Hugs

  2. Before Covid, we used android shopping apps that the two major supermarket chains in Aotearoa New Zealand have available. We found both easy to use and convenient. When shopping, only those items that you had preselected where displayed, list by aisle of the chosen store outlet, and you could check them off as you placed them in the trolley.

After the arrival of Covid, and ever since, we’ve purchased all our groceries online from one supermarket using their online shopping cart. Athough they do deliver, we prefer to save a few dollars and pickup from their exterior lockers that are temperature controlled according to the products. They don’t charge for picking and packing into paper bags and placing in the lockers.

There are generic grocery shopping list apps for android and I presume also for iPhone/iPad. I think you’ll find them more flexible and adaptable than the lists you are currently using.

    1. Hello Barry. Thank you. What a wonderful service, and I will look for the apps. I will also look into the service to have the groceries ready for pickup. I have seen parking spots reserved for pickup, but I never looked into the service. Best wishes.

      1. Not so foggy; I only thought of Pintrest because I used to get free STEAM worksheets for my classes, not too many years ago. Yet! Otherwise, I’d have had to shrug I didn’t know. I hope you find one that will work for you guys. Hugs back
