The trigger-happy federal agents doing Donald Trump’s bidding are completely out of control — and no American is safe

From coast to coast, Americans are being harassed, assaulted, injured, and even murdered by sneering masked thugs hired to attack their countrymen as part of a vengeance presidency that is obsessed with hurting people for sport.
Portland Avenue and 34th Street in South Minneapolis where City of Minneapolis officials have confirmed an ICE agent shot an observer.
A neighbor who saw what happened told local MPR news: “She was trying to turn around, and the ICE agent was in front of her car, and he pulled out a gun and put it right in — like, his midriff was on her bumper — and he reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times,”  (Photo: Chad Davis)

Under wannabe dictator Donald Trump, the federal agencies of the United States tasked with keeping the nation safe are rapidly becoming a grave threat to the physical safety of the American people, as trigger-happy officers open fire on those they’re supposed to be protecting with increasing frequency in communities across the country.

Consider these recent events:

  • Then, on October 5th, 2025, agents shot thirty-one-year-old Marimar Martinez in Chicago’s Brighton Park neighborhood. Martinez was not seriously injured and was thus able to drive away. Although she committed no crime, Trump’s minions charged her and a companion for assault and attempted murder. But prosecutors were forced to drop all charges against both of them only a few weeks later, with her attorney stating: “These agents jumped out and shot Ms. Martinez, a U.S. citizen, whose only crime was warning her fellow community members that ICE was in the neighborhood… That is not a crime. She didn’t deserve to be shot.”

  • Today, officials at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis said that “armed U.S. Border Patrol officers came on school property during dismissal Wednesday and began tackling people, handcuffed two staff members and released chemical weapons on bystanders.” MPR News spoke to a school official about the incident, who related on condition of anonymity: “The guy, I’m telling him like, ‘Please step off the school grounds,’ and this dude comes up and bumps into me and then tells me that I pushed him, and he’s trying to push me, and he knocked me down… They don’t care. They’re just animals… I’ve never seen people behave like this.”

  • Also today, right here in the Pacific Northwest, CBP agents opened fire on a man and woman believed to be a married couple in the parking lot of Adventist Medical Center Pavilion in southeast Portland. Here’s more from The New York Times: “The driver of the vehicle that federal officials fired into drove off after the shooting, local officials said, and the victims were found by the police more than two miles away, with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical technicians who rushed the victims to hospitals described both as Spanish speakers in conversations captured by emergency radio broadcasts. The woman had a gunshot wound to the chest, an E.M.T. told a dispatcher. The man was described as having two gunshot wounds.

Details about this latest shooting in Portland are still coming into focus. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) posted a statement to Twitter about the shooting which was subsequently deleted — and that leads us to worry that the investigation may already have been compromised by political interference from Trump’s regime.

“This violence in our community is devastating,” Portland Mayor Keith Wilson said. “These are not statistics. These are human beings. Portland is not a training ground for militarized agents. When the administration talks about using ‘full force,’ we are seeing what that means on our streets. The consequences are not abstract. They are felt in hospital rooms, in living rooms, in the quiet moments when families try to make sense of what happened. We know what the federal government says happened here. There was a time when we could take them at their word. That time is long past.”

“That is why we are calling on ICE to halt all operations in Portland until a full and independent investigation can take place. Our community deserves answers. Our community deserves accountability. And most of all, our community deserves peace.”

“We are all shaken and outraged by another terrible, unnecessary violent event instigated by the reckless agenda of the Trump administration, this time in our own state, in our largest city, coming just one day after the tragedy in Minnesota,” said Governor Tina Kotek, the chief executive of Oregon.

“While details remain limited, one thing is clear: when a president endorses tearing families apart, and attempts to govern through fear and hate rather than shared values, he fosters an environment of lawlessness and recklessness.”

“I am aligned with Mayor Wilson: the priority right now is a full, completed investigation, not more detentions,” the governor added. “The Attorney General, district attorneys, and I have been clear about our concerns with the excessive use of force by federal agents in Portland, and today’s incident only heightens the need for transparency and accountability. Oregonians deserve clear answers.”

“There are those who want to cause chaos. But Oregonians know how to stand up and speak out, peacefully. We must remain united in peaceful opposition to efforts to tear our communities apart and turn against one another. We will not take the bait.”

“I am grateful to the first responders who have been on the frontline of today’s events. The state will continue to support Portland, and stand united with Minnesota.”

“Huge concern about a reported shooting of two individuals by federal agents outside Portland Adventist Hospital,” said Senator Jeff Merkley, Oregon’s junior United States Senator. “My team and I are closely monitoring this situation and are working hard to get answers. I will share any updates as I learn more.”

The Preamble to the United States Constitutions explicitly refers to “domestic tranquility.” That’s how important it was to the Framers that the people of this country be able to live peacefully and prosperously, without fear of social disorder or unrest. Domestic tranquility is a key objective of our plan of government, and the federal government is supposed to meet that objective by enforcing the laws with great care and discretion.

Obviously, that’s not happening right now.

And that’s fine with the people who worship Trump.

“Respect law enforcement or deal with whatever comes next,” sneered Terrence K Williams, in a post today that’s been reshared by Trump stans.

What happens when law enforcement officers attack the very people they’re supposed to protect? What then? People are trying to go about their lives in this country and they’re ending up killed or injured because trigger-happy agents full of testosterone have been told they can be as brutal, aggressive, and careless as they want to anyone they happen to come across — and they won’t be held accountable or punished.

This is not “law and order,” this is oppression and systemic violence. Trump has decreed it and Republicans at every level — federal, state, and local — are enabling it.

Renee Nicole Good was murdered on-camera. The footage is widely available. It’s ghastly and horrific. We can see with our own eyes and hear with our own ears that we are being lied to on repeat about yesterday’s tragic events.

Many, including former Republican U.S. Representative Justin Amash, have shared a quote from George Orwell’s 1984 in response: “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

That’s exactly what Trump-controlled federal agencies are doing.

With Trump’s kakistocratic regime, no American is safe. This is a government of the least qualified and most unscrupulous individuals in the land. It’s the worst government in modern American history by a lot, and the terrible people who are in it seem determined to staking a claim to being the very worst government of all time.

It is our patriotic duty and moral responsibility — all of us who are loyal to the Constitution and to the values of freedom, inclusion, peace, and tolerance — to fiercely oppose this regime and all the evils it is trying to inflict on our country.

In memory of Silvero Villegas-Gonzalez and Renee Nicole Good and everyone else who has died at the hands of the thugs working for Donald Trump, we will carry on.

  1. There is no way this can end well. No in a nation will so many guns. How long before the ordinary, usually moderate and I’m-just-minding-my-own-business person decides that they need to carry their own firearm, and go around in mutually protective groups? How long before hyped up, unstable folk decide to lurk in cover taking pot shots at official vehicles of any sort?

And oh the irony of Trump complaining about Iranian Security forces shooting at protesters.

    1. Hi Roger. I agree. Also how long until his cult following does the same as they did as lone wolf attackers in tRump’s first term. Remember the bomb’s sent to Democratic Party congress peoples homes, the cult people who stalked democratic leaders to kill them? Hell there were the Jan 6th insurrection rioters who now make up the ICE thugs forces. Sadly I remember the gangs of teens in schools that stalked and targeted gay kids to beat, harass, and sadly sexually abuse gay / lesbian teens. I remember the gangs of conservative republicans / Christian culture warriors who waited outside gay bars in the 1980s / 1990s to attack people leaving the bars often doing serious physical harm putting people in hospitals or killing them. They never acted alone but always in groups against a single person or a smaller group. It got so bad that in Ron’s bar we had to have very strong butch lesbians escort people to their cars, and it was many men’s straight cis pride hurts shame to have a woman stomp them down when they threatened the gay patrons. When some men tell me women are the weaker sex I laugh remembering how I stood beside them in the fights because I was trained army only to have these women who were not only protecting the smaller or less able to protect themselves but also be some of the best street fighters I ever saw. And because even trained I was small only 120 pounds they often felt they had to protect me, and I was grateful for their help. Not so much to be picked up and carried around after but I understood it was a sign of comradely. But I hope we never have to return to those times Roger. They were full of fear, anger, hate, and just so much intolerance for those of any difference. How could we ever survive as a country if it comes to gangs against gangs on every street? Have not governments or countries that tried that failed? Hugs

      1. I can believe that about women who have been brought up tough and learnt to be tougher.

The gangs of bigots proliferated because there was still this faith in the system of law and justice, coupled with a majority horror of causing violence.
When you have an administration which encourages bigoted violence and attempts to strip away the strength of the justice system, then people start to lose faith and taken up self-defence. Self-defence leads to pre-emptive strikes and the cycles starts.

Trump must not just be stopped, he must be seen to fall, stripped of all his false dignity, shown up to be the adolescent brat he always has been, then left to slink away into miserable obscurity. Then each of his major supporters be given the same fate. Not pretty I know. The way back with never be.

        Take care

        1. Hi Roger. Thank you and I understand what you are saying.

Trump must not just be stopped, he must be seen to fall, stripped of all his false dignity, shown up to be the adolescent brat he always has been, then left to slink away into miserable obscurity. Then each of his major supporters be given the same fate. Not pretty I know. The way back with never be.

I do not have your education, years of good experience, nor your understanding of history, so I have a simple question? How does this all happen. Sorry I have had a bad night and Ron has been warning me for days I am pushing myself too hard. My body and system breaks down and I get ill if my body is stressed too hard. Today I am very tired and struggling, but what you wrote seems so very important to me to understand and I want my other viewers to understand what you mean! So when you get time and you along with your wife who it seems has some of the same health issues I do feel OK to do so can you please explain more fully how what you wrote can be put into effect and … free our country from this hateful tyranny of abuse we are suffering under.

Again I know I ask a lot of you, so please be healthy and safe before you take on anything I ask. Hugs and lots of love. I think I am not the only one here who finds you to be a grand resource in our community. Hugs

          1. Firstly, thank you for your confidence in me Scottie, I will try and give my views on the matter.

            ‘How does this all happen?’
Usually, Scottie, the answer comes from the historians who are looking back over the events thus pointing out the person of movements flaws and errors.
Basically an extreme movement carries within itself the means of its own destruction. This is particularly the case where it revolves around one volatile person and a cult of personality.
This instability causes those around the person to be forever manoeuvring in an atmosphere of mutual suspicion.
When Trump fails physically and mentally as he must there will be an undignified power struggle by factions and individuals which will damage the foundations.
At all times the opposition should be constantly ready to exploit with great vigour, persistence and creative imagination all weaknesses as they arise. In this they will breed a public uncertainty and lack of confidence in the administration.
It’s a long game, persistence, intelligence and guile playing a big part, always being ready to exploit another weakness. One of the classics being to play on any scent of internal divisions, comment widely on the personal differences and jealousies. Set one against the other. In such a febrile world that is Trump’s court there will be little comradeship and mutual support.
The Germany Political and Military machine at the onset of WWII seemed unstoppable, yet its own inherent weaknesses brought about a collapse within five years. A big part in this were the internal divisions that Hitler actually nurtured.
There are broad parallels here as Trump hurtles from one topic to another.

To another subject, although it has a. link Your health and well being are paramount Scottie, therefore Rest and Recouperation are important. Thus there are times when we must all take some time out from whatever we consider vital. You put a fine, comprehensive body of work out into the public domain. Now is a good time and place therefore to rest for a short duration.
This is as important as working, for without rest there will be no work. Therefore Scottie, for your own sake, that of Ron’s and also of your readership this would be a profitable time to rest up for a while, for example a week and spend what time arises spending time amongst those subjects which relax you.
In this battle against injustice and destructive bigotry, the long game is vital. The long game can only be taken up with recuperation built in
Rest up Scottie. You have earned it.

            Take care

            Roger 🙏🌈

            1. Hi Roger. Thank you for the reply. You wrote: At all times the opposition should be constantly ready to exploit with great vigour, persistence and creative imagination all weaknesses as they arise. In this they will breed a public uncertainty and lack of confidence in the administration. Sadly our Democratic Party leader in the Senate who would normally be thought of as the party leader is a milk toast man who has said his main job in the Senate is keeping the party supportive of Israel. He is all about the donors and has repeatedly sabotaged the wishes of the people and those in the other chamber who want more action and forceful talk especially in the media. Even Nancy Pelosi’s handpicked person to lead the party in the House is understanding now is the time to talk about ICE abuses and how the party will change things if they get back in charge.

As for tRump failing I think it is happening in front of us and the real people in charge behind the throne are doing all they can to keep the cult from seeing it. The real power is Stephen Miller and Russell Vought, die hard take no prisoners to get the country they want types. They keep tRump busy with make work decorating and doing other putting his name on stuff while keeping him in a bubble so he has no clue what is really happening. If he knew what ICE was doing and how it was sinking his polling numbers he would stop it. But all he watches is Fox anger channel and they only show what Miller wants them to show or say.

Thank you Roger for your concern. I have been trying to get more sleep. The issue was I was trying to keep up a large volume of posting while still helping Ron with the home repair projects and doing the work to keep a house. It takes so much time out of my day if I have to prepare three meals a day, do dishes for a couple of hours, do the laundry, so on and so on. Ron takes a daily nap and I don’t, so he thinks I should.

The problem was Ron did not realize how much he had dumped on me in my day which left me little time on the computer to post, answer comments, and read others blogs. He realized it this last weekend when he got really worried about my health. Sunday morning as I was watching the news he kept telling me I did not look well. On Monday I was really worn out and ill. He was at me to go back to bed. As I wrote I put him off a few times but the third time he found me slumped over the desk he was very insistent I go to bed.

Since then we have talked and he has admitted he put too much on me and will stop doing that. He will help with the house chores even if it takes longer to get his projects done. And yes I will try to pace myself. But already with a couple of days of getting a bunch of sleep and less stress I am already feeling better. Thank you again. Hugs

              1. The danger which this administration does not have the imagination or perception to understand is that the opposition does not have to come from The Democrats, nor the current style of mass demonstration.
                History warns us….
The challenge could come from a proliferation of small, motivated militant groups which will reflect all aspects of society. Whereas there will be militants on The Right who would welcome this because they think they have the upper hand, that is a fallacy. They are simply not ready for the full and scope of total civil conflict and all its attendant, simply random horrors. If they bothered to consider the history of the full potential they would wonder if they really signed up for that.
It is hope this will not happen, that wiser heads on both sides will eventually prevail.

I am glad to read that you and Ron between you will be addressing the issues of your health and workload. I can understand from my own experience the urge to give a full and comprehensive effort you wish to give to your social media links. It didn’t work anymore for me and I cut back, maybe more than intended, still trying to get the balance right.
Take care Scottie, you do have a right to dedicate some time to your social media work, but there will also be a balance required regarding your health.
It’s often a long haul, best approached by pacing.

                Take care now,

                Roger 🌈🙏

  2. I get a “Tabs” substack each day; some days I get them read. Evan Hurst brought it this morning, and included this link from Ken Klippenstein:

    https://www.kenklippenstein.com/p/immigration-agents-terrified-by-ice

It is a bit of a read, but I know we’re up to it. Lots of internal struggle at Immigration Control and Enforcement. I’ve read the comments here, and thought Mr. Klippenstein’s article ought to be here.

Also the bit about resting, above. Rest comes in many forms. While I’m thrilled, Scottie, that you’re back and posting, I concur with Roger that you also need to rest. We cannot fill others’s cups if ours are mostly empty. Let yourself see material that makes you feel better. Do the things that make you feel better. Fortunately for the world, there are more people than us bringing info to people. I’ve been happy to see you reclaiming your blog, but now am seeing the obsession that precedes the crash. I don’t want you to crash again. Please replenish your spirit and energy, OK?

    1. Hi Ali. Thank you for the link. I have heard that there was some unrest with parts of the CBP and longer serving officers of ICE wanting the new gang thugs to back off and tone it down I have not seen anything I could verify so have not posted it. This maybe what I am looking for.

Thank you for being concerned about me. As I explained to Roger what happened was Ron after his sister left again dumped all the home chores on me while he went back to his projects. But I still tried and wanted to keep up my posting schedule. So I was burning my candle too hot at both ends. See I normally get a lot of bedtime. I enjoyed it when his sister was here and they both took over the house chores. Before she got here I was not able to post much because I was making three meals a day, doing dishes which would take me a couple of hours, and doing laundry along with other things needed to run a home. Ron takes a daily nap and I can’t seem to.

After I got so worn and ill over the weekend and as I said on Monday I was breaking down, too tired to even hold myself up and sick to my stomach he realized how much he was again putting on me. With his sister gone he had gone back to doing his thing leaving me to do all the chores and make the meals. We talked about it and I told him before when this was happening I stopped much of the blog stuff to take over the house stuff. I asked him if he wanted me to stop blogging and just do the house stuff. He said no that was not fair as he understands the joy I get from the blog and he mentioned how much happier I was since I could go back to blogging full time.

We agreed he would go back to helping around the house even if that meant he had less time to do what he wanted and I would be more careful not to get so tired, requiring me to be honest about the rest time I need. So in a way it is good that it happened even as I am still feeling tired. Not as tired as I was but it is only like 1:30 pm here and I feel tired. But by five or six today I will be needing to go to bed again I think. I mean Monday night I slept 11 hours and that was after I rested during the day.

Sorry this got long about my health. I know I worded the post wrong but I also knew Ron would read it after I went to bed. I did not want to cause a problem before it could be solved. Hugs
