As I have written about before this is simply a move by Christian nationalists in the military and government to force everyone to conform to their religious beliefs and desires. This is again to return to the 1950s when it was normal for Christianity to seem like the dominant religion of the majority of people in the country. The reasons stated make so sense for the purpose claimed as Belle points out. This is a minority fundamentalist / evangelical believers trying to force their rule and beliefs onto the majority. Hugs
I don’t know exactly where the “return to the 50s” became the plan, but the right should remember the tax structure then, and the progress gained with Republican participation…
… sort of like calling everything “Leave It To Beaver.” There are syndicated reruns on; I recall episodes from my childhood but have had it on for wallpaper as an adult, and it’s totally Not what people describe it; it’s quite progressive, for the times.

Hi Ali. The phrase return to the society of the 1950s comes from the project 2025 playbook. As for the taxation of the times and the restrictions on businesses that is not what they want to revert society to. It was the culture, the social norms, the dominance of white men, the controlled lesser status of women, the lack of civil rights and equality for black people, and the no LGBTQ+ representation in media because they were afraid to be outed and lose everything. These people want a fundamentalist Christian Nationalist country run along the lines of the current Russia but with their version of Christianity in charge. I have read a bunch of that document, but not all the people who wrote it do not care for anyone but themselves, their groups, and the desires they have. No one else matter. The people who wrote it and tRump put in charge of government offices are just steps above the the Taliban but they desire to be the US Taliban, they desperately want to install a Christian Shari laws. As for leave it to beaver and progressive for its time, that is the point, they want to return to when such backwards ways were not the norm but ahead of their time. Hugs

Yeah, I realize much of that. All I was saying is that if they want to go back to the 50s, lets start with that tax structure, and replace some of that progress. They can’t have one without the other.
