QAnon/GOP Senate Candidate Charged With Filing False Report Of Child Trafficking At Maryland Adult Bookstore

The republicans of today have no decency or sense of decorum.   They don’t live in reality, they make stuff up and lie as well as they breath.   They are gang thugs who think winning at any cost is the goal.   If it harms those they don’t like that is a plus benefit for them.   We can not let these people take over the government, we must vote Democrat in the midterm elections no matter what.   We have to have a functioning government for the people, not an oligarchy that uses government to produce their profit at the expense of the public.   Hugs

Baltimore’s CBS affiliate reports:

Ryan Dark White, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Maryland under the name Jon McGreevey, has been arrested and charged with filing a false report after he allegedly told law enforcement an adult bookstore in Edgewood was forcing a young girl to perform sex acts on men, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sheriff’s office now says the story was made up. “It is shameful that a candidate for public office would make up such a story and use it to further his own political agenda,” said Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey R. Gahler.

In April, a tipster provided information to detectives with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office that a man and a young girl between, 10-12 years old, entered an adult bookstore in the 3000 block of Pulaski Highway and the child was forced to perform sex acts on male customers, police said.

Law & Crime reports:

Sheriff Gahler added, “It is even more appalling that another individual, who is running for a law enforcement position, would embrace such an obviously false narrative in an effort to gain political traction – nothing more.” This swipe is apparently aimed at Andy Kuhl, who is running for Baltimore County sheriff as a Republican.

Kuhl told Law&Crime in an email that in his opinion, this was as political smear campaign against White–whom he called McGreevey–ahead of the upcoming primary.

In a statement, he called him a credible informant, told Law&Crime he showed up to the July 7 interview unannounced on White’s behalf, and accused detectives of strange behavior, such as messages about there being good news in the case. He told Law&Crime on the phone that he did not respond to those messages.

White/McGreevey reportedly told police that he was working at the bookstore as part of an undercover drug sting. That’s him with Kuhl in the video below.

It is okay for Republicans to go around with two names, the one they have on official records and one they chose for themselves, a nickname or whatever they’re more comfortable using.

A trans person choosing a name for themselves?
Oh, no that can’t be allowed. It would be “confusing”. It goes against someone else’s religious beliefs. I’ve even seen it said that trans people changing their names snarls up the legal system, somehow making it impossible to conduct a complete criminal background check if or when necessary to do so..

Sanders: Manchin Purposely Sabotages Biden’s Agenda

I watched the interview in real time.   The host kept cutting him off.   She did not want him to point out it was a deliberate attempt to sabotage the Biden term and she tried to stop Sanders from talking about how Manchin rakes in big money from donors to deny the public any benefits.   Sanders explained how Manchin’s game is to draw everything out then kill it then let it start to repeat his prior actions.   draw it out and delay anything getting done.   He also explained that Manchin is not serious about cutting inflation just using it as a scare word because plans developed that he kills have all had things to cut inflation.   I am not sure if is is all money or if Manchin thinks he should be president or what, but he really wants to take down Biden and the Democrats.   I suspect it is because of the attempt to hold his daughter accountable for the horrific increase in price of the EpiPen when it shouldn’t have needed to be increased at all.   Hugs

“He has sabotaged the president’s agenda. No, look, if you check the record, six months ago, I made it clear that you have people like Manchin – Sinema to a lesser degree – who are intentionally sabotaging the president’s agenda, what the American people want, what a majority of us in the Democratic Caucus want.

“Nothing new about this. And the problem was that we continue to talk to Manchin like he was serious. He was not. This is a guy who is a major recipient of fossil fuel money, a guy who has received campaign contributions from 25 Republican billionaires.

“In my humble opinion, Manchin represents the very wealthiest people in this country, not working families in West Virginia or America.” – Sen. Bernie Sanders, this morning on ABC This Week.

I don’t think it takes a lot of deep thinking to see that Bernie is right about Manchin. He claims to be working towards a compromise but never gets there. We need a ton of blue votes in the midterms to override him, and then kick him to the curb.

Ted Cruz: SCOTUS Was “Clearly Wrong” On Obergefell

In the newsweek article Cruz argues that the right to same gender marriage was not a long held right historically.    That thinking means that that no rights not established in the founding of the country or specifically written as an amendment are not rights nor should the people be able to do that thing.   You know what that means right, only white straight Christian males who own land will have any say in the government or have rights in the country.   It is so stupid, and they know it because they champion the idea that unrestricted gun ownership is a right yet it only happened in 2008 by Antonin Scalia.   So why should that be a right it was not something the founders wanted as a right for the people?

The idea that some rights like marriage should be left to states is nonsense.   Think about having a marriage that means nothing if you travel or are forced to live in a Republican controlled state.   There are about 1,100 legal benefit that will be turned on and off as you cross state borders.   What about medical rights?   What about children, will you suddenly not be their parent as you cross from state to state.   It simply is unworkable.    Almost all the same arguments should and had been made about a woman’s right to control her body and get an abortion.   But the religious dictatorship is not willing to reason or think this out, they want the right to control / force others to live by their religious dictates.  Ted Cruz wanted to make dildos illegal in Texas.    Ever wonder about people that want that kind of control over other people?

The fact is that the constitution was designed to be a living document that changed as the public’s needs change and understand grew.    It was not meant to be a religious tome of never changing commandments, as the US was never meant to be a theocracy.   I just don’t understand the drive people like Cruz have to restrict things other people do that do not involve or effect them in anyway.    How consenting adults have sex or don’t have sex is nothing anyones should even be thinking about much less have a say over.   Anyway welcome to the United States of Jesusland, a theocratic country divided and forced to follow the outdated writing of people 2,500 years ago who some people think were the pinnacle of enlightenment, science, morality, and ways of governance.     Will those people give up their phones and modern medications / treatments?   Hugs

Newsweek reports:

Senator Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican, said Saturday that he believes the Supreme Court was “clearly wrong” when it decided in a historic 2015 ruling that same-sex marriage was legal under the Constitution.

In a video uploaded to YouTube from his Verdict+ podcast, Cruz discussed what was described as the “vulnerability” of the Obergefell ruling. He argued that the ruling was not correctly decided, making a similar argument to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in his concurring opinion when the top judicial body formally overturned Roe v. Wade.

Obergefell, like Roe v. Wade, ignored two centuries of our nation’s history,” the senator argued in the clip from his podcast. “Marriage was always an issue that was left to the states.”

Read the full article.

Cruz, you will recall, made opposition to same-sex marriage a centerpiece of his 2016 presidential campaign.

His father, Rafael Cruz, a part-time pastor, served as his surrogate on the issue, regularly issuing frothing Nazi comparisons, predictions of God destroying the nation, and claims that gays would force the legalization of pedophilia.

Rafael Cruz, now 83, made his living selling dietary supplements for Mannatech, a multi-level marketing outfit that has been repeatedly sued for claims that their products were effective treatments for cancer, autism, and diabetes.

Trump repeatedly accused Rafael Cruz of having a role in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

RWNJs are only for things being left to the states when it’s a RWNJ item. If it’s gun control or something else (see the recent decision on NY gun laws) they want the federal government to override the states. This has nothing to do with states’ rights and everything to do with whatever talking point promotes their agenda in that moment.

Cons want it both ways, “left to the states” when bigotry is state supported and left to the Federal govt when it is not. They will be coming for abortion rights with federal law to make sure no state allows abortions. It’s why they worked so hard for this court.

clay Boreal • 2 hours ago

Rehnquist, who Cruz clerked for, wanted it both ways– 1) the courts weren’t allowed to “ratchet up” civil rights, that was the legislature’s domain. 2) the legislatures weren’t allowed to create any “special rights” not identified in the (original) Constitution (Rehnquist wanted to limit the 14th to Civil War issues, which meant its recognition on Native Americans as humans with human rights was irrelevant to him).

Not true. The Supreme Court FORCED states to allow interracial marriage. If they hadn’t, it would have taken another 20 years until the public approved of it. Unlike same-sex marriage. Which already has a 70% approval.

He, and the theocratic assholes on the SC, are in the vast minority when it comes to marriage equality.

GOP Rep Says Pharmacists Should Have The Right To Refuse To Fill Prescriptions For Abortion Pills [VIDEO]

No one has the idea of doing the job you are hired to do, and if you don’t want to do it then don’t take the job.   Taking the job and then saying I wont do this or I don’t do that is stupid to me.    Plus none of these people understand professional standards or requirements it seems.   They all seem to just want the right to force their will on others and get paid for it.   I don’t like spinach but I don’t insist the grocery store stop selling it.    Hugs

“Some of these medications are used for legitimate reasons, there’s no question of about that. People are still going to be able to get those medications.

“They’re still going to be able to get their arthritis medication if it’s being used for arthritis. They are still going to be able to get the medications that are written and prescribed for them if it’s to be used for that purpose.

“A pharmacist should have the right to deny filling a prescription if they know it’s going to be used for an abortion and if they morally object to that.” – GOP Rep. Buddy Carter, speaking to hate group leader Tony Perkins.

Carter last appeared on JMG in 2017 when he raged about the Senate blocking a move to repeal Obamacare, saying, “Somebody needs to go over there into that Senate and snatch a knot in their ass.” To which everyone else said, “What does that even mean?”

People will still be able to get arthritis medication? OMG, that’s outrageous. Obviously if god gave someone arthritis, it is his will, just like a raped 10 year old. I’m sure any decent god-fearing Christian pharmacist will refuse to dispense arthritis (or ANY medication) based on sincerely held religious principals.

They can just stand behind the pharmacy counter at CVS reading their bible and refusing to wait on 100% of customer.

Texas hospitals fearing abortion law delay pregnant women’s care, medical association says

https://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/2022/07/14/texas-hospitals-fearing-abortion-law-delay-pregnant-womens-care-medical-association-says/

This is the point.   This is why the AG in Idaho Indiana where that 10 year old child fled to get her needed abortion care is attacking the doctor who treated her.   Make every doctor too scared of losing everything to help a dying woman.   How is this fucken pro-life?   Can we admit now it is all about controlling the pregnant person!   This is about denying equality and body autonomy to a class of people that the males think they should have control over.    I am sick of the contradictions in laws and their statement of being “pro-life” while actively undermining that life.  Time to call things what they are.   Time to strip the veneer off what these people really want, complete control over people with a uterus.  It is about a dual system of who can have sex and enjoy sexual pleasure.    it is totally about making women a incubator for a man’s issue / future offspring.   Prove me wrong if you can!  Hugs

Doctors are being prohibited from treating patients with complications, the Texas Medical Association alleges.

AUSTIN — The Texas Medical Association wants regulators to step in after hospitals reportedly refused to treat patients with serious pregnancy complications for fear of violating the state’s abortion ban.

In a letter sent Wednesday to the Texas Medical Board, the association said it received complaints that hospitals, their administrators and their lawyers may be prohibiting physicians from providing medically appropriate care to women with ectopic pregnancies and other complications.

It asks the board to “swiftly act to prevent any wrongful intrusion into the practice of medicine.”

The letter from the state’s most prominent physicians group offers an early sign of how restrictive abortion laws have hindered medical care for pregnant Texans.

ban on abortions is set to take effect in the coming weeks, triggered by the U.S. Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe vs. Wade. Doctors who run afoul of the restrictions can face six-figure fines and lengthy jail sentences.

Since last September, Texas physicians have already had to contend with a law known as Senate Bill 8 that empowers citizens to sue anyone who “aids or abets” in an abortion after six weeks of pregnancy.

While there’s a narrow exception in both laws to save the life of a pregnant patient, there’s been confusion about who qualifies.

Fearing litigation, some providers have delayed abortions until patients’ conditions became life-threatening, according to a paper authored by Texas-based researchers and published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

The association, which declined to comment, does not identify any hospital by name in the letter, but it cites several examples.

One in Central Texas allegedly told a physician not to treat an ectopic pregnancy until it ruptured, which puts patient health at serious risk, according to the letter. An ectopic pregnancy, when a fertilized egg attaches outside of the uterus, is not viable.

“Delayed or prevented care in this scenario creates a substantial risk for the patient’s future reproductive ability and poses serious risk to the patient’s immediate physical wellbeing,” the letter said.

Two other hospitals may be directing doctors to send pregnant patients home to “expel the fetus” when their water breaks too early, instead of treating them at the hospital, the letter said.

In those situations, physicians have said that patients are at risk of infection.

The alleged interference not only puts patients at risk of serious injury, the letter said, but also could expose doctors to lawsuits or threaten their medical licenses. It may violate Texas’ prohibition on the corporate practice of medicine, which the board has the power to enforce, the letter said.

The Texas Medical Board confirmed it received the association’s letter, but a spokesperson said the board “cannot confirm or deny any specific complaint as they are considered confidential under statute.”

On Thursday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced a lawsuit against the federal government after the Biden administration said federal rules require hospitals to provide abortions if the procedure is necessary to save a mother’s life. The lawsuit says that the guidance is unlawful and that the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act does not cover abortions.

Ectopic pregnancies are a condition where you either terminate the pregnancy, or the pregnant person dies.

There’s no other result. Abbott and Paxton are disgusting, sick corrupt fucks who are endangering lives for personal gain.

These are the guys that think an ectopic pregnancy can be reimplanted. Like transferring a tomato plant

Yep. It ends up a choice for the doctor to save a patient, lose their license, get charged with murder, and get sued into the poor house. Or let woman die. The rethuglicunts will have to look over their shoulders when one of these guys wives dies.

Ma’am…you are at 6 weeks and two days. You’ll need to hang tight and suffer until you’re almost dead, and then we can take care of you medically.

Is that basically what’s happening?

Not basically. Exactly. That’s exactly what’s happening. Death must be imminent not something a few weeks away but unavoidable without intervention. And even those stories down here are being downplayed so they still think of it as liberal propaganda.

Texas Gov Abbott killed hundred through incompetence, death by freezing when his lack of leadership, his lack of planning, his inaction, made public power fail in the winter.
Now, he wants to continue his aim to kill more people in Texas.
Make it difficult to treat women.
Kill women through ignorance, greed, bigotry.
More dying this summer from continued lack of fixing the broken Texas public power grid – Abbott has done nothing for that. Nothing. Let the people die.

I’m thinking that they’re heading into cult territory. Shared suffering brings people close and since they already think their problems are caused by everyone but their dear leaders this may be what the GOP in Texas really wants.

I wonder how many MAGA women with non-viable conditions like ectopic pregnancy or hydatidiform pregnancy are willing to die for this law? They think that the only effect will be on slutty liberal women who are too poor or isolated to cross a state border.

They will think of themselves as the exception and continue to be “pro-life.” I know too many o them. When they see the story of the 10 year old rape victim they see that she should be able to get an abortion but that doesn’t lead them to think that the entire law is wrong. They are too brainwashed to make such logical connections.

back in 2007 the Atlantic ran an article called ‘The Only Moral Abortion is My Abortion’. It covered the fact that many women against abortion do have abortions and are able to fritter away the moral hypocrisy as they see it as a moral choice for themselves.

White supremacists, who are numerous in Texas, should worry that more and more non-white babies are born due to Republican efforts.
Whites are a shrinking minority now.
Many factors contribute.
Pollution from fracking chemicals is causing infertility in men who are constantly exposed to pollution, and white men are exposed more since they are in the fracking business, so white replacement is happening, faster and faster due to Republicans.

White supremacists seem to always be the shining examples of white stupidity. Their grasp of basic logic is famously weak. none of these idiotic laws will change the genetic composition of the human race in this country or anywhere else.

Taking an example from dog breeding in particular, veterinary studies have concluded that purebreds may have [not necessarily always have] more issues due to having had some traits reinforced by breeding. If that is true, then mongrelization of the population should improve the species simply by diluting bad genes [bad genes, being recessive, naturally reduce viability over time, hopefully before propagation]. Thus white supremacists may be a dying breed or subset, especially since intermarriage with non-whites is increasing and may be improving the population by admixture of new genes.
