Hi Annie. I agree with you. My time online is hit or miss and Ali and Randy take up the slack for me. I struggle to get to the many blogs I like to read and these days it is normally on the weekend I feel I can catch up with others blogs. I do try to do one post each day and if I get lucky I can do a couple that I have saved.

Just checked your blog liks so many others are comming to me via my old blog that is not more. But WordPress never lets a subscription go. But it had all notifications shut off. So in one way I am following you but not with my current blog …. if that makes any sense at all because I am going to have to drink a lot to make it work for me.
Yes I am also a supporter of him and the progressive squad. I am disappointed over the democratic leadership response to the attacks on Rep. Ilhan Omar by Randy Fine. Just as I am the leadership refusing to support Zohran Mamdani. The way democratic leadership is twisting themselves pretzels to avoid the saying vote Blue No Matter Who they pushed before. It is sickening to me the interviews I have seen. Hugs

Hi, Scottie. I’m glad we’re connected. I guess I’m doing ok in these dreadful times. I find the outrages simply refuel my anger, and I try to encourage people to remain or become engaged because We the People en masse are the only way to stop the inhumanity. Though I understand those who withdraw for self-protection, I don’t think they realize that being active is actually empowering.
I think I’m more establishment than you are. Though I wish Schumer would resign, I see lots of Democrats becoming more forceful, and I was impressed by Jeffries’ record-breaking speech against the Rs’ horrible, destructive bill. I’ve also seen Jeffries say in interviews that he plans to meet with Momdani—and that the Democrats are a Big Tent that can be home to both Momdani and Jared Golden, who’s at the other end of the political spectrum. We really need an emphasis like Momdani’s on affordability, which can unite the Big Tent nationally and be a necessary antidote to this despicable Republican transfer of wealth via the Big Bad Bill, which will kill people and wreak havoc on millions of lives.
I think it’s important to keep in mind that in New York, both antisemitism and anti Muslim acts are growing. I personally see Momdani as a coalition builder—and I know that many Jewish New Yorkers are supporting him (regardless of their views on Israel—and plenty of Jewish people who hate what’s happening under Netanyahu still support Israel for many reasons)—so I am hopeful that he can calm people’s fears. It is a big thing to ponder New York City having a Muslim mayor. And the money that will be spent against him because of his democratic socialist views will be staggering.
Good luck with your cataract surgery. I had both eyes done many years ago and have been very happy with the results. I know your situation is more complicated, but the surgery is generally very easy to recover from.
