In the Wake of Another ICE Killing | Wali Khan | TMR

Ok to be honest why do all these new journalists seem like young teens to me?  They are all cute and I want to advise them to go out and play. Sorry, that is the most ageist thing I know to say.  But look at this young man and don’t tell me you don’t see him as a kid like I did the first time I watched this. Hugs

  1. Well, so much for hitting what I thought was the space bar and whatever I hit that sent that half grown statement into the universe. Of course my train of thought left the station at the same time and now I’m not sure what I was planning to say. As I have frequently told my kids though,, I don’t have dementia I just have MS and only half of a brain cell left. And that half cell is bcoming very overworked these days. Just getting up in the morning is a full days work and I;ve been borrowing hours from the rest of my lifetime to keep me up.
And now I’m going to agree again, that kid is really cute. Reminds me a lot of my youngest grandson. Really glad the kids are getting involved with the world again. They are the hope for the future.

    1. Hi Angie. Good to hear from you. How is the infection healing? I understand that some mornings it is a project just getting up. Yes it is grand to see young people beinginvovled and more importantly on the left of the political spectrum. So many young males are into toxic masculinity, which basicly turns them into misogynists and teaches them to act thuggish. Hugs

      1. I’m feeling better every day Scottie; Have to have the dressing changed every day but it doesn’t hurt now. — or should day doesn’t hurt as much and I’m refusing the pain med now. Unfortunately the weather has a lot to do with everything and the weather is not cooperating with my ideas of what to ask for. Hugs!

        1. Hi Angie. I am thrilled to read that things are better for you. I was anxious because of how bad the infection was. I understand well how the cold weather can affect old bones. We have had really cold temperatures for florida and it is challenging to drag myself out of that nice warm bed. Hugs

          1. I have several cousins in Florida, mostly in Tampa, and I hear from them frequently about the cold. Poor guys, just don’t know how to manage the cold. My brother was in Ted=xs for several years and didn’t even own a warm coat. I can’t imagine living where you don’t normally need a heavy coat. I had one that was guaranteed to keep you warm to 32 degrees below 0, but when I moved here I donated it to someone who works outside all winter. When I was in the apartment I wore that coat when I drove my power chair out shopping and never felt the cold at all. Just a lot more than I need here — at least for now. Never sure what the future brings, but trying to keep the faith that it won’t bring me homeless and needing that coat again.
Best news I’ve had since this infection started came yesterday when they told me I can get in the shower again. Spit bath is not really that good since there are parts I can’t reach and no one comes in to wash my back. Just not the same wthout that hot water hitting my aching shoulders but I’ve told them I am going to stay in there until they run out of hot water now. Of course that won’t take long since I prefer it at night and that’s when there is a big run on the hot water but if I don’t get what I want then I’ll talk to the nurse about an early morning shower when others will just have to wait for me to finish. Ya just never know how special that shower is until you have a wound like this and can’t get in there. Kinda crazy of my, huh?
            Love ya, Scottie! Hugs!!!

            1. Hi Angie. Speaking of showering. Ron is in Texas because his sister fell and broke her wrist. She has had a cast on and they finally told her she could wrap it and Ron and her struggled to find something to wrap it with that wouldn’t leak or cause issues. But she really did enjoy taking showers again. Hugs

              1. I can understand that, I use a garbage bag and tape it around the top. You never realize how much you enjoy that shower until you can’t take one for any reason at all, but I have to say this was the longest period without one I have ever experienced. Hugs!

    1. Hi Bruce. 😁😂🤣🤗 When I was young I looked people in their 50s as so old, and now at 63 I look back and think how much better I felt and how much energy I had at that age. I read once that growing old was not for the squeamish. Hugs.
