James Uthmeier recounts successes to Moms for Liberty

‘Our first priority must always be protecting our kids.’

Attorney General James Uthmeier had a lot to celebrate in his speech at the Moms for Liberty Joyful Warriors Summit.

Uthmeier focused on how he’s working to ensure that concerned parents can continue their “movement … based on faith, based on family, ensuring that we have the freedom to raise our kids in God’s image.”

“I’m about eight months on the job now as Attorney General, and as I tell my team every day, our No. 1 priority is, and will always be, protecting our kids. There’s a lot of evil out there. There’s a lot of evil, a lot of danger. There will always be crime, no matter how much we fight it. But our first priority must always be protecting our kids,” he said to applause.

Uthmeier went on to describe his Office’s legal actions against Target for its “transgender children’s clothing line” with “bras for little boys, some tuckable underwear.”

“Gross. Absolutely disgusting,” he said. “We’re going to hit them in their wallets.”

He also took aim at Snapchat in his remarks.

“Predators are all over that app, all the apps, but that one in particular. It’s their preferred vehicle to go after kids,” Uthmeier said.

“And they’re crafty, they’re smart, they’re patient. They’ll use fake pictures. They’ll talk in a dialect. They’ll get your kids to, you know, drop their guard. They’ll tap into their insecurities, and they’re willing to spend weeks or months to develop a relationship before they start soliciting information, soliciting photos, soliciting locations. And since we’ve sued them, we’ve made dozens of arrests of child predators that have gone after kids through this app.”

Uthmeier also described how his Office is able to enforce the law, including by serving as a “law firm for parents out there” who might be concerned by what school districts do.

“If you’re identifying one of these wrongs that’s violating your rights and that’s subjecting our kids to danger and evil, then we want to know about it, and we’re going to bring the heat in court to shut it down.”

The AG also quipped about a recent call to people to report their exes for immigration violations, noting one gender predominantly was dropping the dime on the other.

“Y’all ladies are savage, I’ve got to tell you. These calls come in and these ladies, I mean, they’ve got date of birth, nickname, frequented bars. I mean, all the details. So to the handful of men out there, treat your women right or they will absolutely get you.”

  1. That’s ironic.
Anyone suffering under this loathsome regime and its creatures could use the same speech, with a few adjustments naming the several propaganda outfits run by MAGA and Fundamentalist groups.

    Take care you guys.

Wishing you Scottie and Ron a peaceful and happy Christmas.

    Roger & Sheila.

    1. Hello Roger. Thank you for the Christmas wishes. The article shows that this AG runs entirely on hate and bigotry. Why I have no idea. How can so much of your life be dedicated to making the lives of others harder and more bitter? How shallow and small his life must be. I can not understand living life just to make the lives of others worse, and then doing it in the name of a deity. Hugs

      1. And apparently, misogyny. He only mentions women-using the belittling term “ladies”- when he talks about them turning in immigration violations. I wonder how many women’s rape and battery cases against men he closes? grrr.

        1. Hi Ali. Thanks for pointing that out I missed it. Yes he is the kind of “Christian” who would think women are lessor than a man. Again I never understood that idea. When I was 18 and in the Navy I was friends with a former shore police woman. One day a guy started to give her a hard time and I being young and stupid when to step in. She simply put her hand on my shoulder to keep me back and then took that guy apart. Anyone who thinks a woman can’t be in the military should have seen her. I was stunned at how easy she did it. She was not angry she just took him down in a controlled manner. He learned a lesson in respect and so did I. Hugs

          1. Aw, I’m sorry; I wasn’t trying to point it out, I was being snarky about his misogyny. And peeved on behalf of his female crime victims, about who he seemed to forget while warning men to be careful of women. Things haven’t been coming out of my fingertips as I intend recently; sometimes, I can turn a phrase. Others, well. I apologize!

            1. Hi Ali. You misunderstood me, sorry. I am glad you did point it out! I did miss it and it is an important point. Please keep pointing things out as I miss stuff or it doesn’t hit me due to not having experience with it. Thank you. Hugs

              1. You’re welcome, Scottie! No worries; I’ve been rejoicing at your work and your voice this week, and then worried that I caused you to feel badly. I never intend that. But I really only wanted to snark at that man’s contempt for women. He’s a butthead.

      2. Hi Scottie.
This type of person takes their hates and prejudices, hijacks a belief system then uses it for their own toxic ends.
In this case being tantamount a heretical standpoint.
And it’s no use them citing Matthew 18:6-
“But whoso shall cause one of these little ones who believe in Me to fall, it were better for him that a millstone were hung about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. ”
Because that could equally be applied to them in their hate speech, turning kids into bitter neurotics.

        Take care you guys.

        Roger & Sheila. 🙏

        1. Hi Roger. I enjoy listening to the Rev. Ed Trevors because the deity he talks of is a really grand kind guy. The kind of guy you could spend an afternoon chatting with. He did not seem to hate anyone even those who hated him.

Those that use the rest of the bible to support their hate run on negative emotions and it seems to give them a reason to live. I think it is a bad reason, but as you say they hijack a system to support their own hates and desires to force others to live as their church doctrines on others.

Personally I think telling very young kids that unless they please some unknown power they will suffer burning in hell being tortured eternally is abuse. Seriously scary to little kids. And it can easily lead to abuse. Hugs

          1. Exactly Scottie.
Most religions do have at their basic system instruction that believers should be responsible not just to their faith but caring to their neighbours, even if they don’t necessarily agree.
And yet it is one of the first things the greedy and the violent will try and use, twisting the words to suit their purposes.
It will not do, as you see it can lead to abuse or a reign of terror.
            Take care
            Roger
