Just wanted to let everyone know things are getting back to normal here.   Sort of.   Ron made supper tonight of fried chicken parts and French fries.   I was going to clean it all up, but James came out of his room and did it.  I won’t sugar coat this, my physical ability has lessened a lot more.   I over did for too long during the hurricane evacuation and when we first got home, and now I am having to increase my medication every dose to help control my pain levels.   The pain is not just muscles, now the spine shots have worn off and I feel the bones in my spine screaming with pain.   My own fault.   Both James and Ron worried greatly when we first got home and so much work needed to be done that we all pushed ourselves.   Now I sit until I cannot stand it, then go lay down, get up and repeat.  The thing is I cannot stay in bed at night too long.   Last night I went to bed about 8 PM.  Got up at 11 PM, stayed up until 2:30 AM, went back to bed and was awake in pain by 6 AM.   Not getting a lot of quality sleep.   Odie is walking badly in the morning but when he gets up and walks around in the afternoon he seems to move much better.    We have covered the roofs with great thanks to Randy who sent us the best tarp when we couldn’t get any.   We have all our laundry done.   Ron spent most of the last two days raking the lawns, clearing the debris, mowing the area, raking the area, repeat.   The park office announced out of the blue that we only have until Friday to get all our debris and damaged stuff to the front for them to pick up and then after that it is our responsibility to dispose of it.   How we are to do that living in a development is unknown, I guess we would have to pay a company to come take stuff and dispose of it.   But my issue is with the short timeing.   There are a lot of older single people who are just getting back on their feet and have few people to call and help them.   I got a call from a 78 year old lady tonight that the internet company was telling her that she needed to rent their equipment to get her spotty internet working again, she asked me if that was true.  It is not.   The internet system and the wires of the company that provide it took a hit, but she is not required to rent their expensive stuff to make her internet work.   I told her I will go over to her place tomorrow and check it out.    She says her equipment has all the normal green lights, so I suspect if her internet is spotty it is in the outside wires.   I am not sure what more to tell you all, so I think I am going to close down for the night and go to bed.   If anyone has questions ask me and I will reply.   Hey I am almost caught up with comments, at least more than I have been in more than a month.   Hugs

Jake Tapper took Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to task for her endorsement of various conspiracy theories over the years.

The CNN host called Greene an “extremist” who is tolerated and even “embraced” by her fellow Republicans because of her preternatural ability to fundraise and receive the clout that goes with it. Tapper then aired a series of clips interspersed with his commentary.

Tapper stated that in previous years, such behavior would have earned Greene a “political death sentence.” But, he said, her status as an effective fundraiser and “MAGA celebrity” has elevated her status within the GOP.

The GOP is broken and apparently that’s how they like it.

Something happened to Odie just before the hurricane, he started to have a lot of trouble with one of his back legs. We assumed he he caught it jumping down the steps we made for him to get off my desk. But after the hurricane it showed us that what ever is causing it got much worse. When we first got home he couldn’t hardly walk. He would walk a few steps with two or three of his legs out of his control, like he was very drunk. Then for a while he walked like his back feet were controlled by someone else. He thump walked. His rear legs went out from under him. And he thumped as he tried to walk. We would have tried to take him to his vet but their office has not been open yet as of last weekend. So now he is walking better. Very slow but all his limbs seem under his control. We really have no clue what the issue is, but one thing we do and don’t is let him jump down from any height as it will hurt him again. Which means we pick him up to anything he needs that is any height. When he is on my desk I or someone else must watch him so if he starts to want to get down we can pick him up and set him on the ground. He has learned the system, now he get food or treaties and comes to my desk and sits there looking at me or meowing. That means pick me up and let me take over your desk please. And you maybe shocked to know I do that. We do put him in his personal chair next to the window because it is much lower than the desk and if we don’t put him in that chair he will struggle to get into it himself. We do notice that instead of jumping out he slides out on his stomach. This is just one more in a long list of issues we are dealing with after the hurricane.

Look this is on my phone typed with my keyboard and I know there are a lot of errors, but fixing them all is going to be hard. If I miss any please overlook them. Life is hard enough for us right now with out spelling / grammar police. Hugs

And this is what the US / republican led states has become under republicans / DeathSantis, forcing children to have babies after being forced to have sex with older males, being used for sexual satisfaction of a male. I don’t know how to make it more clear what the right wants to do to the US, force it back to the morals / times of their holy books where kids could be given in marriage or simply raped with out consequence. Just pay 30 shekels and get to take the kid as your property. I am sorry but I am so sickened and fragile right now I can not really process this. I don’t have internet or computers to open the full story so my imagination is running wild. I told people on my blog before that when I was told in the small heath lesson we got in sexual education at 12 years old in the 6th grade the only thing I took away was only one sex act could cause pregnancy. As I was being regularly being raped I became terrified I would get pregnant. Does anyone know what that mind fuck does to a 12 year old boy? I sat in the class shaking, not daring to ask the question I desperately need an answer to. Lucky for me I couldn’t become pregnant but what about the 10 year old to older girls? They could. And if the Taliban Christians gain control over our country they can simply be bought after the act. How many kids don’t get the sexual information they need … until too late. I am not sure I can read the rest right now, my emotions raw maybe more than raw and I don’t need a visit from the vortex. Hugs

Hello all you wonderful internet friends. Please know I value each and everyone of you and I wish I could spend time with you. I have some good news and some bad news. I also have a request for information.

First we got power back yesterday about the time it got dark. And I have to give the workers credit. The situation was that a couple trees were over the lines and the pole was leaning so far over so no worker could climb it safely to fix the broken wires off the transformer. The first truck that showed up was different than most bucket trucks I have seen before. It has a solid base bed and it was designed with a telescoping boom that went way out straight and even extended as it was over a mobile home the truck itself never even wiggled or wobbled. They cut the trees. Then they backed up and left and our hopes were dashed. Then a couple other bucket trucks showed up with a few pick ups with bags of gravel and a lot of workers. James went out to talk to them as the sky was darkening and one of the workers said they were going to get us power if it killed them. They need to get access into the church behind us, which James informed them there was a family staying in the back school area of the church because they had lost their home. Those people opened the gates and moved their car so they could get one of the big bucket trucks into the yard behind the pole. They used two Bucket trucks, one to push and one to pull and got the pole back upright. They packed gravel around it and then went up and hooked up the transformer. As they started all this it began to rain really hard and I thought they would quit, but they kept working in the driving rain. They called Ron and James out because legally they are not allowed to turn on the main breaker at the meter. Yea! We had power.

Then when Ron went to turn on the hot water heater he realized we had lost what bad running water we had. But they got that turned on about midnight, seems they busted a main line some where.

So we are trying to get back to normal. This mid morning I had the first hot water shower I have had in over two weeks. I tried taking a cold shower a couple times but unlike when I was forced to do it in my childhood I only did it the first time, after that nope. I and Ron have heated a pot of water on the hot plate powered by the generator and did a sponge bath to keep from being too stinky. Since the first time in a cold shower I had no way to wash my very long hair. And I needed to do so. So it felt grand to get a hot shower.

The generator has been a dogs that love gravy blessing that made life semi livable during the last two weeks. We couldn’t have made it without that. But it did take about $500 a week to run it, and FEMA may reimburse us depending on the receipts we kept.

Ron and James have worked hard all morning to get the tarps we have over the still bad parts of the roof covered and we have one more coming from Randy which after I wrote that Ron told me it arrived and is grand, again thank dogs that love gravy. The tarps may save the walls and interior of our home and there was simply no way to get them locally. I did order two large ones from Amazon but the delivery got delayed and we were losing hope, but then they came days before the delay so that was great. Today the sky is darkening and it is to rain hard. Randy hearing of my fears rushed to the rescue as he often does, and got us a large tarp that is due to be delivered today or tomorrow. As the guys finished putting the first tarp over the most damaged and needed to be protected area it poured. They came in soaked and water logged.

So last night after power came on James started moving furniture around the living room. We have a open concept living room kitchen. James took the table and he started setting up my computer system. I objected as that would mean no one else had a place to eat and would only have TV trays for their stuff. He looked at me and replied “ Not trying to be mean but you are so much easier to live with when you have your computers set up”. Well OK then. So he really did a great job. He had been able to save the computers and monitors when the roof ripped off but he couldn’t save much else. He did grab the multiple keyboard and mouse which is great. I lost a lot but the main systems are still working. I lost all the speaker systems and the camera and other stuff. But as I am in the main room of the house and backed up to the wall of James bedroom I am going to have to wear headphones anyways. So he set it up and wouldn’t let Ron or I help. He told me he did not want to pick me up off the floor and told Ron it would take more time to tell him what to hook where than doing it him self so last night James got all my remaining systems set up on the big kitchen table, my monitors, the few accessories left, and then he got my rolling stand with my TV / x-Boxes / and chargers / remotes and cleaned them and tested them and set them next to the table. So I have everything I need … except I have no internet. So I am still using my phone and tablet. I used the auto online feature to tell our ISP that we are still out and the bot gave me the raspberry. So what is next? I don’t know what is next. But the $500 a week extra for the generator fuel is over for now. It cost us over a grand for the time we ran it.

Now to be honest that hurts. We went through more than our home budget for a month in two weeks. But as I have always said before and recently Nan reminded me, others have it worse. First we have savings. Not a lot, and the house will take more than we have to repair, but we wont go hungry today or not pay our bills. We also have James who is family and is stepping up to share expenses. We are hurting, but there are people who have no where to live, and are maybe living in their cars or something. Think of the homeless that went hopefully to shelters (because the ones that didn’t died, this storm was that deadly) and have nothing left and no ability to move forward.

Now for my request. I got used to handling WordPress from the Chrome browser and struggled to adapt when things on that changed too much. I spent over an hour this morning trying to figure out how to make a post either through Chrome or with the WordPress app I have been using for comments and other things. It is really limited and there doesn’t seem to be any way to do a post from it. So all I can do is email posting only. Everything I do is via an email. Very frustrating and very limited. Does anyone know how to post from the app or even through a browser on a tablet. Thanks to everyone, a hot shower makes makes the world seem a better place, even in a hard driving rain. Hugs

Ps. Using the iPad is different in that it changes the words you type and I don’t notice. I am going back and correcting the most glaring issues/ errors now. But if something doesn’t make sense in what you read, I blame it all on apple.

Do you care? I do. Not only do I care for these families, I care for your families, I care for my family. One family no matter the makeup doesn’t harm or take away from another family. How does Ron, James, and I being a family harm anyone in anyway. How does Ron and I being married effect a opposite couple marriage in anyway. These people keep claiming harm and the destruction of the country, but what they are really saying is they don’t understand it, may not like it, and their preachers tell them it will make their god cry. Why would it make your god cry? Because the priests and goat herders of the time seen the world through the view of their time and understanding? We know so much more now, then they did not even understand hand washing, yet some people think their morals are more advanced than what we understand so much better today. It doesn’t make sense and is unreasonable. Hugs
